Strut clearance issues with an 18x9.5" wheel. We definitely can with a different size wheel. It will have to be special order though.

If you haven't read through this thread, I recommend: https://www.civicx.com/threads/why-change-from-20-inch-wheel-may-be-bad-for-the-r.31742/

Some interesting perspectives on the topic.
LansocK on here is running 19x10 et55 wheels with 295/30/19 tires. Zero clearance issues. So a 19/18 x 9.5 with a 50-60 offset will clear. The only issue may be caliper clearance.

18x 8.5 is fine. No need for the extra width.
Why would you not want a wider wheel & tire? A larger contact patch is always better.

Ok, so these wheels have been made to have as little excess material on them as possible. With that being said, we can only machine 3mm off the backpad bringing these wheels up to a 43mm offset.

If you are really concerned about torque steer, and I'm sure there are also others, we can make a set for you that is closer to stock offset. We require a group buy with a minimum of 5 sets, so you will need to get 4 other people on your team.

With that being said, an 18" wheel at 60mm offset will not be as wide as the limiting factor becomes strut clearance. IIRC, the max offset is roughly 50mm for an 18x9.5" wheel. There will also be no concavity in the face as a whole, as the new issue now becomes caliper clearance. So you will lose the advantage of extra rubber/larger contact patch under your shoes. All in all, we can make whatever you want so if you're serious about custom wheels that won't give way for torque steer, give us a call and we can discuss options (even styling!!!).

Price will be roughly be the same as our standard 18x9.5" R903.

See more renderings below:
For reference, here is a CTR at stock height with our wheels.

I see you offer the R902 wheel in 19x9.5 wheels with a 56 offset in 5x120.65 bolt pattern for Corvettes. Is there anyway you can check to see if these clear our Brembo front caliper? I’ll buy them if you confirm this and make them in 5x120 bolt pattern instead of 5x120.65.

Are you able to design a 19x9.5 wheel with a 55 offset that clears the caliper? If so, I’ll buy em. You need 5 people to create this? I don’t see that being a problem at all.

For people that are concerned with scrub radius a 275/35/19 tire on a 19x9.5 wheel with a 55 offset will give you the same scrub radius as factory fk8 wheels & tires.

The NSX wheels with 245/35/19 tires that I keep seeing are close to stock will add 5mm positive scrub radius, so now you go from -2mm scrub radius to positive 3mm. Run a 255/35/19 tire on that NSX wheel and you’ll only gain 4mm scrub radius, so you end up at positive 2mm scrub radius.

The only two wheels, I know of, that are 19x9.5 with a 50 offset, confirmed to clear the brembo calipers are Volk Racing G25 and Advan Racing RSII wheels. These matched with 275/35/19 tires will add 7mm scrub radius so you have a 5mm positive scrub radius.

Any chance you would consider 19x8.5 +60 w/64.1 hub? I bet there are tons of people wanting to go down to 18/19 for tire options, but keep exact stock specs. I prefer 19 cause 245/35/19 is the closest to stock you can get(that I’m aware of), but 18 would be alright too.
Seems like this guy would be 1 of the 5 needed to jump on a new wheel design.

+1 to this.
Seems like this guy would make 2 of the 5 needed to jump on a new wheel design.

It seems that no one is interested in producing exact stock specs for CTRs. They're not willing to invest in new tooling/new forging equipment, RSR included.

But they have a 19x9.5 +56, which is just about the closest that you can get to stock with aftermarket (besides the NSX wheels). However, no one has done a test fit to see if they'll clear the brake calipers yet.

This is the wheel that lead me to finding this thread. My only concern is the caliper clearance & and bolt pattern is 5x120.65 not our 5x120.
