I think $1,420 could be better spent elsewhere.:drive:

$1400!!! What the actual hell. I figured it would be a pretty penny, but not anywhere over $800.

I can buy this product doing what the video shows, but not where they have it mounted on the front and rear of the civicX.

On the front, it's too far front and down to affect where the chassis flexes.

On the rear, it's mounting to where the structural bumper is already mounted and providing rigidity.

Any reviews?

IMO, no one in their right mind (who isn't a millionaire) would spend $1,400 for this. If they priced it at maybe $699, I could see quite a few people at least considering it.

Huh ... this smells like snake oil to me.

The only time I have seen spring/damper units used in chassis structure is as tuned mass dampers, where a very specific frequency of a structure is being tuned out to get rid of a shake or vibration issue that irritates customers. Generally one end needs to be attached to a chunk of mass, either specific to that purpose (Toyota loves these in small sizes, they generally use rubber and a piece of iron instead of a spring/damper combo) or, in rare cases, the powertrain (1980's convertible 911 used a spring / shock from the body to the powertrain to reduce torsional vibration of the body).

Modern unibody structure is quite stiff, displacements are usually smaller than a couple of mm, rendering damping pointless, especially friction damping (as opposed to hydraulic damping).

As shown in the pictures, the 'strut' seems to be installed in parallel with the bumper beam - bumper beams are certainly stiffer than this thing, so other than adding some mass I don't see it doing anything.

I saw someone with a type r who made his own with an Yamaha motion bar. They're used on some Lexus cars and can be found used cheap.
I think he said it didn't made a difference.
