Intake thermal insolation

Hi,


Did anybody try wrapping the intake with that tape that should work as heat insulator?

I’m a bit curious if it would make any temperature difference.

I did with DEI reflective gold tape. Honestly not much difference if not 1-3 degrees fahrenheit decrease in IAT. Waiting on 27won to release a better turbo inlet pipe then will wrap that and compare to stock piping

Mods like this are cumulative in effectiveness. Lots of small improvements add up. If not going "all out" then don't bother.

As the above said, not a lot of difference...But I like the gold... LOL...

Yes, I did that too and don't think it made much difference. It does look nice!

The gold tape is a reflector, not an insulator. It shouldn't lower temperatures unless it is directly (line-of-sight) in between a radiating heat source and what you want to protect. Use standoffs, heat shields, and insulation ...
