I'm at 6mos and little over 5k. Folks here are right; it was meant to be driven. As long as you upkeep on maintenance I wouldn't worry all too much about how much you're driving it. :) My co worker will sometimes do 1300 miles in a week. Our work got him a new work truck last september and he's got almost 50k on it already from all the driving he does.

So i got my Type R 2018 in December and im at 10k miles..is that bad?
That is absolutely horrible. Hopefully your car will be able to handle the extreme abuse you're doing to it. That's at least 5,000 more miles than you should be driving in 9 months. Stop the madness!! ;)

Seriously though, you're fine. Enjoy your car.

LOL I have 14k on mine after 2 years, not because I dont drive it, I actually drive it everyday. It is just that everything I need to drive to is all with on 5 miles of the house. So many many short trips. And in winter when snow or ice I drive my ford focus. I do go to out of town car shows about every week end but still somehow only have 14k miles after 2 years :) One thing I don't do that I know a lot of people do is just go drive aimlessly, going out into traffic and stop lights never seemed fun to me LOL. Not dogging anyone, driving is fun, im just the kind of guy that if I don't have anywhere to specifically go I don't just get in the car and drive aimlessly to burn gas. :) Maybe that's why I don't have many miles :dunno: IM old LOL

It seems normal to me. The more I drive mine, the more I see it as just a really good Civic. I think people who treat these like they're exotic cars are missing the point altogether.

Drive it all you can. You could lose a leg tomorrow and not be able to drive it anymore. You never know what's coming. Enjoy life as much as you can now.

You're fine. My old sport touring was owned for 2 years and had 33,XXX when I traded her in.

I also had a 2005 civic I bought new and when we traded it in 2012 it had 380,00k on it and was still running strong and had had no mechanical issues at all the whole time. And that was roughly 55k miles a year about 4.5 times the average mileage :)

I find myself taking laps around the neighborhood after dinner because I enjoy driving it so much (and to gain more experience with the stick shift), my neighbors are petrified I’m casing their homes for robbery

I did about 15k in my first year. Its your car, its your money. Drive it as much as you want. Like other's have said, I don't think its going to be a "collector car". Have fun.

I started driving my R beginning of April and I just hit 13500 miles this morning on the way to work :drive: I did 3500 mile, 6 day road trip in June. My old S2000 saw 21000 miles the first year of ownership so.. lol

I didn't buy it look at it, im bought it to enjoy it every single moment I can

If it makes you feel any better, I bought my 2018 with 3,800 miles on the odometer in April 2019. I currently have 14,6XX miles on it.

We normally put on around 21,000miles a year. So.... you got some driving to do
