This is my car with 27Won downpipe, Frontpipe, and Exhaust installed. Inside cabin sound clip.

And this is a longer clip of just the Frontpipe and exhaust from inside cabin.

Before the Downpipe, the exhaust system actually KILLED drone and was super quiet when just cruising. You may not notice too much of a difference but adding the Downpipe reintroduced drone between 2-3k rpm but it also made my car sound even more aggressive and incredible. I don’t even notice the drone anymore.

If you simply want improved sound but NO DRONE, I highly recommend 27Won’s Back Exhaust System. Their side branch resonators really do a great job of canceling drone out but sounds sooo good.

Would you recommend to get a downpipe first or exhaust first? That is if money is tight and my goal first is a nice notable rumble inside the car during spirited driving.

Downpipe... i have pro catless ... it adds a great rumble... then after 6 months
I pair it with type R exhaust and it sounds great . Mild exhaust tone... no drone at any rpm...

Downpipe is cheaper than the exhaust. I’ve heard time and time from other members that the Downpipe itself does make the sound car better but not a dramatic change like an exhaust system will.

along those lines, i did just the cat delete (aka test pipe) on my evo x, mild cabin drone increase, sounded stock, and gained like 21whp after tune lol. And i believe test pipe is like $80-120, so potentially cheaper (and SO much easier to install) than downpipe. Just my experience though, and on a different car. point is do either of our solutions before catback for gains and low noise. Sleeper AF i tell ya

My opinion is test pipe over downpipe unless you care about emissions (i dont live in California anymore and register my cars in a county that doesnt even do emissions checks :p)

You kept your resonator, correct? If not do you get any drone at highway speeds?
No drone at like 50mph+ but definitely hella drone below that. Youtube videos really didnt do it justice because this is way louder than i expected!

I changed the original DP to an AFE Takeda DP almost 2 years ago.
I haven' t changed the rest of the system because the SI system
is quite efficient and I think the other systems bring more noise
and drones than HP.
As it is, the sound is quite low, pleasant to hear and no drones.
I found it a little to loud in the car so I put some soundproofing
material in the trunk. Now, everything is to my taste.
Is that a Catted or Catless? I cant decide between catted or cattless DP with stock exhaust nothing deleted, unfortunately there arent many sound clips one I found was a catless downpipe with stock exhaust and it sounded ricey AF, I just want some nice grumble and not shoot rice out of my HDMI port....., the other video I found was with a front + catless downpipe and it sounded okay but video wasn't that well done so it was hard to tell how it actually sounded behind the vehicle.
