Has anyone on 2016 Civic EX-T got this big update from Google? There are many videos on youtube but I have not got mine. Wondering if this is the case for other people too.

You need the latest version of Android Auto, but more importantly Google has to make the server side update. I have a S8+ with the latest version of AA, but still on the old UI :(

Oh ok, so it's not just me. May be they just roll out batch by batch. Thanks for the answer.

I manually switched to the new UI in the AA app. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't go back to the last app you were using like it used to. I'm basically always in Pocket Casts but it defaults to Google maps whenever it starts.

Ohhh your comment is golddd! There's an option in the Android Auto app on the phone. I just manually switched to it and will see if it works when I get out of work. Thankssss!

Yep, they pushed a server-side update for most people this week, myself included. The old interface was getting stale, big improvement IMO. Feels faster, more useful info at a glance as well. My only issue is the fact you no longer have access to the weather card on the AA home screen, all you get is this overly verbose (and kinda slow) Google Assistant lady to speak to you.

Will have to try this out tonight on my way home from work. Looking forward to not disconnecting from AA which does happen from time to time.

Ohh recently I have this issue too. AA got disconnected from time to time. Hope this big update will fix it.

I believe you can change the Google Assistant voice and speed in the Assistant app on the phone. They also have Aussie accent too!

Yeah most people should have it by now. I like the new UI a lot. I also like how it automatically starts up the music. I miss the weather card as well, but I live in a flat state where to be honest the weather is quite obvious. It'd probably suck more of I was in the city. I also wish it defaulted to the music player rather than maps when initially plugging in.

The only thing I don't like so far is the fact that it always starts in maps. I would prefer that it either go to the home screen or allow me to choose what I want.

Oh yea, that is quite the update compared to what it used to be, Now I have access to calendar, podcasts, youtube music just to name a few. Nice layout which looks great at night without blinding you. AA only disconnected once in two days, this afternoon on my way into the office. Looking forward to playing around more with this for sure in the coming days.

Thats what I use, the Aussie accent. Sounds so much better.
Imagine if you could get it to sound like the New Zealand actor Rhys Darby, especially like his character from Bobs Burgers Duncan. That would be hilarious.
