I don't believe there are any rules to prevent them shipping to the UK. You could use USPS, UPS, FEDEX, DHL etc but probably USPS will be the cheapest option. The ground shipping option would take weeks to get here so probably would have to be by air or global express. If you could find out the prices and let me know what it will cost please?

I would have to pay any import fees, customs clearance fees, duty, tax etc. Usually it is 20% tax plus a clearing fee payable to the courier/postal service that clears it through customs. You just fill in the customs declaration/commercial invoice and the shipping service does the clearing etc. If the value is low (normally less than about $20) then there may not be any fees.

I like the version 2 idea with them more contoured curved to fit the body work shape better. I'd prefer a no use of moulding tape option as I dont like the idea of sticking them to the paintwork but only if this would not cause ugly gaps for mud and dirt to collect in. I am however concerned about any corrosion that might be caused by having extra screws or bolts and those U clips, due to metal fatigue if the clips were a strong nylon plastic or something it would be better. Not sure if I have fully understood how they fit without tape.

Including all the necessary hardware and tape etc would be better as even though I may be able to source them somewhere, it would make life difficult. I live rural so options for this sort of thing are very limited where I am.

Do I have to sign up on the Google form or send you my details via DM?

Thank you!

Thank you for the information! I had shipped this to Canada and basically claim the value to be under what they consider for the customs fee. Also I believe specifying the item as a gift also helps on shipping cost. I think Canada's acceptable item value (before customs fees) is formulaic as I believe I was told it can't be more than an odd number of $34 IIRC. So I undervalued my product during shipping just to help my customer in that sense. I'll find out more information for you when it comes time I finish my grunt work. What I have been doing for this production run is set a flat shipping rate of $20 to Canada and $25 to Australia. Which one of those flat rate you'll pay, I'll determine soon.

Yes, I do see concerns about the moulding tape, but I believe you can find some in different thickness to avoid it looking like there's a gap. I do know in my own CTR, it is thick moulding (tape) and can build up dirt, but that's only because I take mine and off a lot for the sake of research, then again, it's never crazy since I don't drive in crazy dirt roads a lot. Also, most of my reasoning behind the moulding tape is to control the contour of the rock guard against the curvature of the wheel well and not necessarily a method of securing it down (version 1 only comes with 1 pre-drilled hole, version 2, since it's taller, will have 2 pre-drilled holes fitting over the OEM screws).

My rock guards is made of .093" ABS, or ~2.4mm in thickness. I try to balance that thickness with the pressure created by securing them on a curved surface, thus why I went with that measurement. I wouldn't worry so much about the pressure the extra screw and flat nut will create as it is essentially just 1 additional screw over a curve as it is barely 3000R in measurement. I'll try and do another post on how I plan on securing the back with a screw and a flat nut. Essentially I'm making a custom drill hole that is against the black fender liner, just close enough to the lip of the painted fender. The flat nut will pinch the guard and the screw together but the screw's sharp point will not pierce the painted part of the fender, just the black fender liner part, even then, I wouldn't worry as much as the screw is only 0.5" or 1.8cm tall.

So the screws that I supplied are black oxide coated, and the u clips are phosphate based. Don't know the exact science, but quick Google searches indicates that these are better rust preventative methods than bare metal. I value their fitting more than their properties to be honest as they are harder to get right for my needs. Perhaps enclosing them with electrical tape would help as a cheap countermeasure?

I hope this answers all your questions. Also yes, please fill out the Google Form on my signature and make a USD payment if you could.

Thank you, all sounds good to me!

Here's a fairly brief explanation of the science behind metal fatigue, dissimilar metals and galvanic reaction for those interested in the science...

A Google search throws up more in depth info:

Just filled in the form and sent the PayPal payment. Also filled in the international shipping form but I would have added that I'd be happy to pay more for faster shipping as I mentioned in my previous post about air/global express and how long it would take shipping by snail mail (Usually a month!!!). Just see what the prices are and we can go with whatever is sensible.

Cheers,
Mick

Received my new rock guards in the UK today and everything is great with them. I'll get around to fitting them sometime over the next week. They'll look subtle on the car and provide some much needed protection. I just got the car professionally ceramic coated and detailed so it's perfect timing!

Looking forward to seeing how they look.

Many thanks Keiothic for all the work you've put into them and for working with me on the shipping, very much appreciated!!

Thanks, Mick! I got the same good news from Australia yesterday as well. I'm glad all these international shipping came through with no issues. :)

Finally got my fronts mounted. Great fitment - didn't love the u-clips I chose, but they will likely work fine.

Thanks @keiothic

Just had my version 1s installed today!

As I did not want to use any molding tape on my painted fender, I modified the rear flaps a little bit. I ended up drilling two new holes onto the flap to match where the OEM screws are, however, keep in mind that by doing so, you forego some of the underhang of the shorter version 1 rear flaps. The bottom portion of the rear flap will also not be secured and will leave a slight gap between flap and fender as I did not opt in to using a flat nut as keiothic has thoughtfully suggested in post #167. The good news is that I took my car to ~80 mph and did not hear any sort of flapping noises from the unsecured lower portion of the rear flaps. They also look stabilized from what I could see in my side rear view mirrors.

Thanks for your work @keiothic!
