Hi all,

Does anyone know of a good LSD for the K20C2 with 6MT pairing? I have a 2019 Coupe Sport coming from the factory in a week or two, and that's the mod I'm looking at the most. I'd prefer a gear-type so I don't have to crack the trans open a second time for maintenance.

I see MFactory has one, but is labeled only as "K series" and I don't know if it's compatible with K20C2s.

Note: my 6'7" frame didn't fit into a Civic Si due to the sunroof, hence settling for the Sport model. Plus, I absolutely despise turbo lag.

There is no turbo lag after removing the electronic ramp up on your tuning program. Due to the size of the turbo, going from no throttle, to WOT, it spools to my boost target (26 PSI) almost instantaneous. As far as getting an LSD, the SI's LSD is a mechanical lsd which is probably what you're looking for.

I dunno, I think I'm good with N/A this time around.

Will the Si's LSD fit into the K20 transmission?

doubtful, as it's an entirely different platform.
and the LSD you were looking at is for early K series motors. The ones with actual headers, not a exhaust port.
K20A and K20Z motors.

except that there isnt any turbo lag on a civic Si that has a turbo that size of a quarter and hit peak tq at like 2500 rpms.

This. When you have Aggressive Ramp/Ramp off, it's literally instantaneous power. If you're at a roll, even more so.

Correct, and I'm very much looking forward to it! Not sure if it's been built yet; nobody around had a white coupe with 6MT.

I drove an Accord Sport 1.5T and wasn't really happy with the turbo, which should (?) be pretty close to the engine in the Si.

My head hitting the bottom of the sunroof kind of ended the chance of an Si anyway.

nope, different turbos, different internals in the engines. different tunes. and the Accord weighs 400 lbs more. You were probably feeling the effects of the CVT too. It gives that stupid lag feel. Thank god KTuner gets rid of that

It looks like the Si's differential fits into a ring gear with a different part number than the one in my Sport, but the transmission casings, the countershafts, and all the gears seem to have identical part numbers. Could I swap an Si ring gear/LSD combo in for the Sport ring gear/open diff combo in my transmission?

I have the 2.0 with the 6mt in my car and was thinking about going this route. Because at a launch if it broke traction, which it did most of the time, it would spin through first gear. So after doing research I realized I didn’t need the lsd, what I needed was some good tires. This was what a couple of members on this forum suggested. That’s all I needed. Now my car grabs and goes! The lsd is more to improve coming around corners when that inside tire tends to lose traction. For the trouble and cost, I recommend buying some good quality tires first and see what you think.

Thanks for the info! What tires did you end up going with?

They weren’t even expensive tires but they were z rated tires. But I figured I would give them a shot. They are Vellozza ZXV4 235 40ZR18. I like them
