That's in interesting point. I'd kind of thought that it was definitely a showcase for what Honda/Acura is capable of.

One thing with that... I thought the Prelude...
Off topic, but ahhh the Prelude. My first car was a 1981 Prelude, then my mom had a 1987 Prelude, until the one day they came home in a 1993 Prelude, and it was one of the coolest cars I'd ever seen. Bring it back Honda, with a Type R engine at least. That being said I probably couldn't afford one and my kids probably wouldn't fit in the back seat.

I've never had any desire to own a Corvette. Zero. But now it's on my short list of cars I want to own before I die. Yes, I'd also love an NSX but at 3x the $$$, that's way outta my price range. C8 FTW.

Corvette.......the interior on the NSX is not worth $150k +. I would by an older Gallardo before the NSX.

Well personally I'd consider the Acura NSX a luxury sports coupe meant to compete with exotic brands whereas the Corvette is just an American sports car icon meant for men having a middle age crisis.
I don't really get this stigma. It's not MEANT for men having a middle age crisis. It's meant for anyone who wants to own a kick ass car of incredible value.

It just so happens, that most men aren't uber wealthy... and the Corvette is the best, budget sports car in the world; so when the kids grow up and you're tired of driving minivans and other "sensible" boring shit... and before you're dead... you go out and buy something fun that doesn't break the bank. Not sure why that is a bad thing?

I drive a 50 year old C3 Corvette convertible so yes I may be biased but as I see it Corvette easily wins. But damn, no manual trans? That's pretty hard to take.

You nailed it. But it's not a stigma, if it were the Corvette wouldn't be as talked about as it as. It's a joke that came from jealous people who can't afford a Corvette, ever, to make themselves feel superior because they're making themselves feel like they're not a stereotype. It's like the people that say civic owners are either short mexicans/asian people who drop a shitty entry level car 1in off the ground and put a fart can on it. I mean some of us do but i understand cause some people want the engine to sound like that but can't afford a car that sounds beefy naturally so... Why not?

C8=$60k
Nsx=150k

Personally I think the c8 beats the bag out of the nsx on all levels (for the pricepoint) Personally if I were to drop 150k on a car I'd go luxury brand such as ferrari, Lamborghini etc not a step up from Honda. Is the nsx probably a better car than the c8? Probably. Is it 2.5x better? Definitely not.

Acura is dreaming with that price tag.

The NSX has been my 'if I win the lottery car' since it came out but I've never wanted a car more than I want the C8. Mostly because it might actually be attainable by me in the next decade. It looks like it's going to be more of a performance bargain than it ever has been. I can't think of any car that looks this exotic for less than $100,000.

I’m in big three country where Mustangs, Corvettes, and Hellcats are common.

I’ve seen the C8 vette 5x already vs. the NSX (1x).

I’ve always been about having something unique.

To me its a no-brainer. The NSX is overpriced as hell and as someone else said, it's not like Ferrari where their brand commands that kind of prestige. The C8 on the other hand is the bargain of the century with a mid engined sports car that hits 0-60 in 3 seconds flat and it starts under $60k, and sounds way better too. And once the high performance Z06 and ZR1 models come out, I can't really see a compelling reason to get an NSX over a C8 at all. IMO, Acura has went down as a brand rather than up, and they are more like slightly nicer Hondas than a luxury car brand, they are in major need of a recovery. The RDX is the right direction, but those cars are plagued by reliability issues apparently.
