Hello,
In the area I live in, the roads are mostly OK, but in some places we have potholes.
Should I replace the OEM wheels? , and for what size? 18 or 19?

If you look in the wheel and tire sub section of this forum you will find a lot of information... The way I see it you have 3 options

1. Keep stock. Yes there is a risk of damage due to the very thin sidewalls. Also the stock tires were not meant to have a long tread life. If you plan to daily drive this car and want to keep the stock set up, I would probably start looking for used stock wheels now to have ready in case of a problem. and keep an eye on your tread wear.

2. Keep stock wheels, but replace tires. You can keep the stock wheels and get some tires with a higher sidewall. this will mitigate some of the risk of a damaged wheel, and will also allow you to get a tire that fits your needs. But you will want to verify the size will fit and understand how much it will change your speedometer reading. Also tire choice will be limited here.

3. Replace both the wheels and tires. Good option, but this could be expensive initially. There aren't many wheels choices out there that maintain the stock offset, but there are some that are close enough. There is a lot of debate on how much doing this changes the performance of the car. also this option will give you the widest selection of tires.

Ultimately you will have to figure out whats best FOR YOU, based on your priorities. Don't let people on this forum make a decision for you. Do some research and make your own decision.

Truer words could not have been said. There are a lot of people here and in the car community in general who jump on the me too band wagon and have no idea why.
Example: I had a guy come up to me and say wow the CTR to bad they did not make it AWD. I said why? he said because it would have been better. I said why? he said because it read it was better. I said why? LOL and how? His answer it was what he read on forums. So I say to him and what was their proof on the forums or was it just a bunch of people saying its better like you are to me right now. He thought and said no proof just people on a forum saying. Im like exactly.

Do research , find facts, dont go by what people say on a forum.

Fwiw I have 19k miles on the original continental tires. Mainly DD and one autox on them. About 4/32nds left. I wouldn't say that's low for a 240 tw tire.

You can blast them away on a track day tho.
