I've mentioned before I'm a big fan of these Girodisc rotors, so I decided to post my experience after running them in 3 different cars (Evo X, CTR and Corvette C6). I had to replace my OEM front rotors on the CTR after only 2 track days as they warped and created grooves. I am now replacing the rings on the CTR after 26 track days and I did it as a preventive maintenance, since they were working perfectly fine. I never had any issues with vibration or had to resurface them.

I've used a combination of Winmax W5 and W6 and Rayestos ST43 pads, the latter still being my favorite.

As you can see from the measurements they still had plenty of life on them (30mm is the minimum thickness), but as I'm refreshing the car for the next TA season I included the rotors in the plan. I'm pretty sure they would last another 20 track days easily.

On top of being bulletproof, they are 4lb lighter than stocks per corner!

I also put more than 10 track days on the Vette and Evo X with no issues, but the CTR is the one I've done more track days with them.

Best,
Steven

You should upload all your track day videos. Love them. Thanks for the review.

Thank you. I definitely do. I haven't been too active in the forum but I'm coming back

This is awesome info. What pads and rotors you running in the rear and why did you prefer the raybestos to the winmax? Wear characteristics, pedal feel, dust/ease of cleaning after a track day? Thanks in advance for the info!

i'm currently on DBA 4000t3's down to price and a handful of trackdays/yr. every time i see these types of threads, i always feel like i made the wrong move even though i'm yet to have any issues with DBA or know how they'll hold up.
your wear rate is 2-3x better than i expected.

Stock rotors and Winmax W3. All of the items you mentioned. I've used Winmax W6 and didn't like it because it takes too much heat to start biting. The W5 is similar to the ST43, but ST43 is more consistent, very easy on rotors and last forever, yet provides very good bite and stopping power.

DBA is also a good, but the Girodisc are worth it the extra price.

Thanks for the info. How many track days are you getting out of the ST43’s?

Great review Steven, I am literally going to Evasive tomorrow to get my front Girodiscs installed....this was due to me warping my OEM rotors trying to keep up with you and Khoa that day in Angels Crest haha! Miss ya buddy, hope you are enjoying TX! Oh and I too would highly recommend these rotors to anyone, ran them in my previous Evo X and loved them!

My stock rotors were also toast after 2 events, although I was still using stock brake pads. I am going to give Winmax W5 front pads and R1 Concepts rotors a try next round, if that fails as hard as stock did, I'm going Girodisc and Raybestos. Thanks for sharing!

I've tried "cheaper" options before until I went with Girodisc and never looked back. Not saying you shouldn't try tho;)

Am considering following your lead on the Gyrodiscs... however my nephew who works at Honda says on Brembo brakes, the rotors must also be changed whenever the pads are replaced..

Does this sound correct?

Or can the Gyrodiscs last thru several brake pad changes?
