This is true as well. The brake lights basically scream to the cop, look I was speeding so much that I slammed on the brakes! I highly recommend down shifting instead.the trick is not to panic brake when you pass cops speeding. it sparks their prey drive if you panic brake.
The hilarious part is everyone around me was going about the same speed as I was and I was chosen haha even the guy in front of me thought it was him getting pulled over until he realized I was behind him then he took offGranted the car looks flashy, it blends in with traffic more than you'd think. It's also quiet (stock) so that also helps it fly under the radar. By the time a cop realizes what just passed him it's probably too late. At night as well, I have trouble differentiating a stock Civic Sport Hatchback from a CTR from the front or back since the spoiler wings look like the C-pillars for whatever reason (from the back) and the spoiler itself is black (mistaken for rear glass).
Edit: so unless you're a lone wolf going much faster than the pack (or just a lone wolf speeding for the sake of speeding), you're probably not going to get pulled. This applies to all cars though.
Honestly, it doesn't draw the attention on the streets in SW Ohio that it seems to get elsewhere. I think most people just see a riced-out Civic -- not knowing what the Type R badging means. I don't run with a bunch of "car guys" so it gets very little special attention in my experience. It would make sense that you've never been given a thumbs up if you don't daily the car haha.
When I first got it about a year ago, I got thumbs up just about everywhere. It seems that it's kind of died down now, maybe the hype is overHonestly, it doesn't draw the attention on the streets in SW Ohio that it seems to get elsewhere. I prefer that, although I do catch a few people staring at it still. This car definitely still turns heads , my first one the attention was crazy. But it’s toned down now, I feel like I can enjoy it without looking over at a cell phone recording me just driving down the street.
With every gear grind I’ve done my timing with the clutch has always been on the edge. I can never tell if it’s me or the car.I didn't get a ticket but I got warning on day 10 of ownership, I didn't check that box since it was a warning.
Gear grinding - I think this was my fault
The thumbs up is almost a regular occurrence, especially when filling up the gas tank haha
Since it would require me not having my car for a few days, I'm just going to wait until the warranty expires. It would be so much easier if we didn't have to jail break our ECU's.Surprised there aren't too many "tuned the car" yet seeing a lot of folks have Hondata/KTuner.
I've owned 2008 Civic Si, 2011 Civic Si, 2014 Civic Si, 2018 Civic Si, and 2019 Type R. Every model I've owned there were countless people complaining of grinding gears and not one of mine have ever ground.Good point. It sucks to see such a high percentage of folks that have grinded gears. I've yet to experience it or maybe I just chose to ignore it or perhaps didn't know I've done it.

If your car doesn't grind, it means you know how to drive it.
