2016 Civic Not Starting

Hi,

I was listening to my radio with the engine off and "Brake System Problem" popped up. I tried starting it but the car's dash just sputters and blinks. There's no turn over but I hear like a tapping noise like it's trying to start.I push the brake in to press the start button and the infotainment screen shuts off as well. Turned off the car and the brake system problem disappeared. Any solutions?Could be a dead battery? This is the first time it's happened. PLEASE HELP I'M STUCK AT SCHOOL.

UPDATE:went back to vehicle to try starting it and brake system oroblem popped,electric brake system problem, and VSA problem popped up. DRLs began to flash and the dash turned off and flashed like battery was dead when starting. The warnings of the problems began to change at a rapid rate

I'd see if you can find someone to jump the car off. Just make sure it's done properly, hopefully that will take care of the issue.

Wont be able to do that until 2:15pm, but will be contacting AAA.

Ya.. Battery doesnt have enough voltage.. Make sure you take a long drive after the jump

This just happened to me right now and yesterday. First my brake lights were flashing and radio stoped playing. Today which is July 27. my dash and radio turned off, when I say that happen I gave it gas and it came back on. But idk if giving it gas helped. I’ve stalled the cvt before.17 ex-l Navi 30k miles

Are you still on your original battery? If so... it sounds like it's time for a new one.

The stock batteries suck, happened to me on my '18 couple months after I bought it. Dealer replaced

Im pretty confident its a battery issue. Most starting problems or electrical issues I've seen with 10th gen Civics all stem from the battery. Get it tested and check it out, sounds like you should replace it since the OEM ones are insanely weak.

Sick of getting stranded over the years, I now carry a portable jumpstart battery with me all the time. Saved my bacon a few times.
