So these spots showed up on the glass after I sprayed an interior cleaner/glass cleaner (cant remember which) on the glass (which was hot as the car sits outside) and wiped off. Now I cant seem to figure out how to get rid of them. I've tried buffing with a dry microfiber towel as well as respraying and then buffing (once the surface is cool) to no avail. Advice anyone?

Replacement.
Is replacement really the only way? :( If so, it is something i need to go back to the dealership to have replace or is there a part # i can order on my own and replace it with ease?.

I would recommend using white vinegar (undiluted) on a paper towel (not sprayed onto the surface), and do it first thing in the morning (so that the car is cool).
Good Luck, and please keep us posted

I had something like this happen from sun block. Is there any chance you used spray sun block near /in the car? I was actually spraying it outside, but it blew in through the open window and landed on dash/instrument panel. Otherwise i would guess it was cleaner (as in not window cleaner) that caused this. Others have listed some ideas for cleaning. So it when the car is cool/cold. Stuff bakes on when it is hot.

I tried the rubbing alcohol on the cool glass (along with some elbow grease). Didn't work, the annoying spots are still there :(

Yeah, I should've not sprayed when the car had been sitting out in the heat for a while . I was spraying either interior cleaner (meguiars) or a glass cleaner. I can't remember which.

Are you sure it’s glass and not plastic?

It’s plastic and some types of plastic do not like alcohol at all or whatever was in that glass cleaner, it attacked it, that’s what the white spots are. Unfortunately, there is no other option than replacement. That’s why it’s best to use glass cleaner on glass only and not spray it on glass directly but on a paper towel or glass microfiber.

I'm thinking the plastic is etched from whatever overspray droplets hit it.

As a suggestion:
You might want to rub some 303 protectant onto the screen to see if helps minimize the damage. Use a clean cotton cloth and gently rub. Try it a few times... get the plastic damp, allow it to sit for awhile and then gently rub it in.

I use 303 on my bike windshields, which helps minimize the inevitable micro scratches from typical road debris.
