At 11,000 miles my cloth armrest is faded and stained. Not sure how it got this bad, my car is garaged and I don’t eat or drink in the car. Disappointed and won’t be getting another car with cheap cloth in those areas. Looks like an old sock. Would the warranty cover this?

By the look of things it’s just dirty.

They do get dirty easily but if you clean them often they'll stay clean

Honda quality went down on these cars, mine headlights are already faded like a 12year old car its only 1 year 4 months old. Also don’t like all this hard plastics inside you cant leave coins or anything cause it will rattle like a 1990 car

Just switch them for the leather, which arent real like the console is, but any way, I think I paid 18.00 a piece for mine and took about 30 minutes per door.

Has anybody that put the leather covers on taken them back off for any reason? Just curious if the mounting tape damages the cloth underneath at all.

I thought they were garbage from day one. I couldn't stand the feel and how easily they attracted dirt. A while back someone figued out that the "leather" pieces from the Insight fit the Civic.

Looks like one of the top 10 best mods you can do for your Si. I'm definitely going this route but will probably wait to see how my stock cloth armrest holds up first.

That isn't fading... thats dead skin from arms/elbows... my armrests get that way too (had a 2016 and 2019 civic). In between deep cleans i use some armorall upholstery wipes, keeps them relatively clean and black until i use a scrub in cleaner. As other's said, using some scotch guard can help, or as others said, swap to leather inserts from the insight but its not fade, just dirt. No need to bash honda's quality over something that isn't an actual quality issue.

Did any of you ever have an 8th gen civic? I had 2 of them... now THOSE faded quickly because they were that fake suede material.

The ones I used, from Honda arent covers and there is no tape involved, I took them off to swap with the new car, no problem, just,a few screws.
I don't know about the ones with tape, but for less than 20.00, I didn't wavy to fool with a cover.
