I finally picked mine up from Richard's Honda in Baton Rouge for $38,300 OTD. This is including all taxes, doc, title, and tag fees. :D

Purchase agreement for proof attached.

Car was sitting at the dealership for a good month and a half... and after a month and a half of consistently asking them to lower their asking price, they finally agreed with my offer of 38.3K OTD.

Getting this car below MSRP is possible!

Congrats! Your own finance or thru the dealer? At 625/month?

We can add Autonation Honda in TN to the nice list again lol.. this is my second type r I’ve bought from them at msrp. They had dent protection & all that other crap added on. But they were very quick to remove it from the price.. I must say it feels so good to be back in a Type r

I financed thru a major bank at 3% APY.

Typical 5 year loan, not the 4 year loan on the Purchase Agreement. Brings the payment down to 450 a month for me.

I'm working with a dealer but they received a SGP instead of my requested white. They're doing MSRP + shipping - I was shipping it out to CA which was 1500 for enclosed transport. PM me if you want the dealers info.

Separate data point, I used the 60 month Payment Saver (balloon) loan from PenFed. My monthly payment is just under $400. I tend to keep cars for only 2-3 years tops, so it made a lot of sense for me. I also only drive around 12,000 miles per year. Ideally, I would have leased a Type R, but they don't lease well. So here's the math instead.

PenFed's residual decreases (compared to MSRP) by about 11.5% per year.

So payoff amounts look a bit like this:

In 12 months: $32,500
In 24 months: $28,350
In 36 months: $24,200
In 48 months: $20,050
In 60 months: $15,900

Based roughly on the way the 2017s have depreciated (i.e. not very much), my best guess is that in 24 months, the car will be worth $31-32k, and in 36 months the car will be worth $28-29k. So <$400/mo payments and I still am not underwater on the car. Ends up being essentially a 24mo lease with $3k back at the end or a 36mo lease with $4k back at the end. That effectively lowers the net monthly payment to less than $300/mo, which is a great deal on such a high performance car.

After a months of casually searching, I closed a deal on a 2019 CW.

Initially, I had a deposit (waited 3 months as first in line) for a CW but was greeted to a SGP. The next day Cardinal Honda had one sitting below MSRP and jumped on it quickly. Gave them a call and said they engage with out of state buyers - W.

Definitely recommend out of state buying for those who have the patience and capacity for it. I'd do it all over again to not pay the markup in my area.

Side note, I have another deposit for a 2019 CW for Aug/Sept. Not sure but maybe I can transfer that to someone here?

Proctor honda in Tallahassee is selling a CTR for MSRP right now. Manager came out and said they don't put any type of "market adjustment" on it. They seem like good people over there

I can vouch for Proctor Honda, honest dealer. I had my name on that car until I found a CW that I pick up next week. They're straight MSRP only small snag is their doc fee is a bit high at $749.
