I think that the real challenge here is that the K20C2 was never designed to make any major power. It can be done, but it's not going to be cheap. Honestly, you'd be much better off spending $8K on a fully built 4Piston K20C1. It comes ported, with fully built internals and upgraded valve springs. Unlike the standard K20C1 (which is already awesome), the 4P engine can rev to 9K RPM with no issue and handles way more low end torque.

It's a super expensive option, but with the K20C2 you're going to spend thousands on Motec alone, plus the thousands that you'll spend in parts and labor just to build the engine. It would be cheaper to buy a fully built Type R engine and go from there.

:rofl: This thread!

We all can just listen to what he has to say on his build and watch it as it progresses. Seems there is a lot of talking and not enough listening. The suggestions and feedback is great but he's not asking for any. He's paving his own path. Look and learn! This is how new knowledge is learned. And sometimes how old knowledge is confirmed (Ex: He's going to blow up his engine).

Personally, I think if he keeps his boost to 5-7psi, he'll be golden, especially since he has an intercooler. Staying on 93 octane or so. Don't matter what I 'think' anyways. I'm watching and seeing how it goes. Seeing all the responses is WAY more entertaining than the build at the moment though. :spaz: This forum is very interesting.

To be fair, I think the big issue isn't that he's doing that, more of the attitude of it. Because I think this would be 100% different if he said "well heres the parts, heres the plan, gonna have this shop take care of it and get it all done" or something to that effect. Something more of a build thread to show there was some research put into it. Calling people haters (which to be fair bashing isn't really helpful) is kinda childish in my opinion.

Just looked at the guy videos on instagram and this shit screams RIIIICE. Why the type-R wing on a LX? Seriously this is the kind of thing I would not want to drive or even be in on the road. Looks to me you didn't had a lot of money at the time to you went with a LX when you should have just waited to buy an SI or CTR? Big oof on my part, but if that's your thing go for it lol

I read through the entire thread. I genuinely hope this ends up working out for the OP. I'd be concerned about the company that made the turbo kit. The first thing they should have done before touching a wrench to the motor was figure out if it was possible to tune. The turbo kit looks nice, but they should have been honest about the lack of tuning support. Playing devils advocate - maybe the company did tell the OP and he said he wanted the turbo kit anyways. This reminds me of the first 7th Gen Maxima with a turbo kit. The issue there was finding out what the CVT could handle. In the end he ended up swapping in a 6 speed manual, which was never offered on the 7th Gen Maxima. I followed this thread often when I had a Maxima myself. https://maxima.org/forums/7th-gener...ld-s-first-turbocharged-7th-gen-maxima-2.html The thread there went from 2014 to 2017. 3 years to finally figure it out. You have to be willing to put a lot of time and money into the "first" of anything. I hope the OP is ready for it.

You shouldn’t be driving it at all even on low boost until it’s tuned or you are gonna be buying a new engine. You are probably running so lean it isn’t even funny. It’s a ticking time bomb right now. Not hating, it’s facts.
@OP

I didn't read this whole thread, but please get this tuned and dyno'd

I'm a huge K20 fan, and we don't know what your K20C2 is capable of, we just know it's not setup the same way the K20C1, and C4 (I don't remember which variant the Accord 2.0 uses)

I'm not hating on your car, nobody's done it, I wanna see what it can do and what the stock K20C2 is capable of who knows it might be the hidden gem that we don't know about.

Whatever happens just keep us updated, we'd like to know how it goes!

It's your car and your build

Of course man! And if I meant to seem childish for what I was saying. I apologize, at the moment I was hype about it and it kinda sucked to take constructive criticism. I thank everyone for your advice! Rough or soft! I’m buying a Hondata K-Pro ecu and going from there! Planning on buying that ASAP and I’ll keep you posted how it goes from there

It happens to the best of us!
Now the only time you should be childish is when you giggle as you feel that boost now :)

I hope your car run good. Dope to see a base 2.0 with turbo. I have a sport hatch with prl turbo kit. i got some people saying my motor is going to blow. I'm lucky to run 23 psi tuned by Derek and my engine is still running strong after 10k miles.
