What tires would you guys recommend? I am ordering 17 in RPF1's and was recommended RS4's but I figured I should check with the folks that might have better knowledge. Thanks!
yah. re71 or rivals. most seem to use the re71 but they work in different situations from each other. research research research.

I was kinda leaning towards Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's since they are a bit less expensive and right now I really want to focus on getting more seat time.I'll have to read up about the RE71 and Rivals

If you want to be competitive, which you will, get the RE's now. Even if you daily them, you should still get 100 runs and 7500+miles out of them.

I’d actually put in a vote for Advan A052s. Many positive reviews on that tire so far, seems like they are on par with the Bridgestone and better than the Rivals.

I've heard the jury is still out on stock, camber limited cars and the A052's.

“Paprocjo, post I think I am gonna pull the trigger :headbang:“

Most of us typically run 255/40 size, but you can definitely run 235/45 as a start.

I noticed you’re from IL, were you at our Chicago event, lined up behind Sam Karp?

It is +45mm so I believe it is still legal.

The 235/45 was the default size from Tirerack. I don't know much about tires, whats the benefit of the 255/40 over 235/45? I was at the event on Sunday behind Sam! He was awesome, this was my first SCCA event in years. He was kind enough to show me the ropes and had plenty of tips.

OE offset is +50, so +43 to +57 is legal. You're good.

With the 255 vs the 235, if you look at the specs on TR, you get 1.2" more of tread width on the ground per corner. That seems like a lot, so we all do it. The Si only uses the outer 1/2 of the tire on course, and I don't think anyone has really done comprehensive testing to know if it's actually better to pinch the wider tires on. But our dumb autocross brains just think more = better no matter what.

 Its funny cause its true. And the first guy to win on 235's will have everyone try those next! "Like lemmings in shiny little boxes"

And I've been sitting over here thinking about trying a 265 or 275 on 18's for the fronts :confused1: lol
