Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Steve Padgett Honda in Danville, VA is on my bad list. They have a 2019 Civic Type R advertised at $34,047 on their website, but they will not honor this price. This would be a steal if they actually honored it. When I called yesterday they said they have a "website glitch" with only this car. They said they would to $39,999 plus tax, tag, etc and will not honor the website price. Please put Loma Linda off the Msrp list. I just drive 60+ miles to this dealer and they want 45k before tax+fee for a SGP type r

Colonial Honda in Colonial Heights, Va sells their CTRs for MSRP.

Damn that sucks... I knew they were going to have an adm on it as soon as they said they only talk numbers in person for type r’s. I told them I’m not going to waste my time and drive 60 miles for a shitty deal.

At 45k to 52k. I don't think the car is worth it at that point.

Yep...to add, when the author mentions 2 Honda Dealers in El Paso that are doing markups, he's talking about El Paso Honda and Rudolph Honda. EP Honda wanted a 5k markup last I checked and Rudolph adds 4-5k in accessories. One day I'll get my CTR, but it probably will have to be out of state :/

ah, yes, the classic "website glitch" story. I heard that run around a lot when I was on the hunt as well. Dealers lure in prospective buyers with that BS. Coggin Honda here in FL was the worst with this tactic

Had this with several of the dealers with ADMs I called.

Dealer: "There's a glitch with CarGurus, this car never displays price correctly."
Me: "But your other cars are priced correctly on CarGurus."
Dealer: "..."

Having had a dealer license before, CarGurus will let dealers price their car however the hell they want.

It's false advertising and it is illegal. Should be reported to your state's consumer protection agency (if you have one).

The dealer that I went to told me that the website guy forgot to put the ADM on the Type R listing because he thought it was just a Civic (it was actually showing as having a discount on carguru). Don't know how true that is, but they sold it to me at MSRP without the discount.

Yeah i called them first for the price but they said they only do the pricing in person... I got there offer them 39.620 which is 3k ADM and they turn me right away, they dont event try to go down to 8k lol

3k over is the offer I’ve been making to dealers as well but they all tell me that SGP is a rare color and that they will not budge from their price. I’m done looking for a type R for now tbh.

there is an SGP in Illinois for msrp.

Was just at Penske Honda in Ontario. They got a CW CTR for 46000 before TTL. I called Norm Reeves Honda Cerritos and they have 2 CW CTRs on the way for 44000>_>. This is outrageous.

You guys out on the coast need to come inland for some reasonable pricing. Even with a one-way airline ticket, you'll come out ahead compared to the prices you're quoting.
