I've had an 06 WRX ( I call it an STI because I swapped the drivetrain and had a Crawford built engine stroked out to 2.2 liters hitting about 400whp on pump) and a 2014 wrx hatchback. The 06 STI was a track monster and ran a 1'23.5" at streets of willow and 1'55" flat at buttonwillow (on R888 at the time). The 06 STI was extremely dialed in and fun to drive but terrible for daily. My 2014 was a lot less modified just on some KW V3 and accessport. Again fun and a lot more liveable daily but it wasn't fast enough to be fun, especially with how heavy it was. The build quality was also pretty shitty but you don't get a wrx/sti for the build.Following this thread because I love the build
How does it compare to the STI you've owned, do you miss that car?
My fk7 is a lot more refined and comfortable as a daily but it's quickly getting to the point where it may go track only. So far it's a great daily but a little loud, and the RMM honestly sucks for daily driving but is amazing in the mountains. It also feels extremely nimble, being that it's only 2850lbs roughly vs my Subarus were easily 3300lb+. My goal is to get the car to 350whp/350tq reliably so that's the next step. It's fun to drive but just needs more power at this point. Definitely do not miss my Subarus.
