I’ve been told that using a different tuning option. Whom I’m not going to name for the sake of trying to be polite. That the Bosch ecu does not read knock retard or knock control during data logging. I asked about knock count and got the response “as I just mentioned before neither of those items are supported by the Bosch ecu so you’ll never see a value there”. That was literally the exact response I got.
I’m not sure what’s going on here but in 20 years of working in cars and 8 years of tuning my own cars I’ve never heard this. Needless to say I had asked this as I suspected my ctr was switching timing tables mid pull. It read no knock of any kind in live data or recorded. That includes my 5000 dollar snap on scanner.
So basically the question is can hondata detect any kind of knock retard, knock control or even knock count during datalogs on the civic type r.
I’ve never played the guessing game with ignition timing.
