If you're going to go through all that, I'd be you'd find more imperfections throughout. Like I said in another thread, even my front fenders aren't flush as they proceed to the A pillar/side mirror area.
I agree, look at your rear bumper where it connects to the rear fender, I have a large gap and top and none at the bottom.

OK, here is how to find it. Get a flashlight and a piece of note paper, the one that has lines for writing. Use white. Shine the light through the paper and hold the paper close to the area. You will see the lines of the paper reflect on the metal straight with no dent, where you see a squiggle is a dent. Easy. The bigger the imperfection, the more the lines will distort. I have a theory, transport damage from straps. Some transport companies put a strap around certain parts of the car to hold it down from bumping around. just a theory a friend told me. Mazda had this issue from a storm at sea years ago with the ship transport.
Sounds about right to me

So I took mine in this afternoon for my dent. Manager said it was probably from the manufacturing process lol. So anyways, they're going to paintless dent remove it for me on Thursday! Hope all goes well! I'm a little nervous but I'm sure all will be okay, fingers crossed!

I don't think it is from shipping though. The manufacturer specifies the mounting points and those are all under the car.

OP here! I was finally able to get to the dealership to get these dents out. They didn't admit that it was a factory issue but they did end up fixing it for free. They brought in a local "dent wizard" guy and he fixed both sides flawlessly and in about thirty minutes total. I think I'm lucky given the stories I've been reading through this thread of dealerships not bearing the weight of this defect. The dent wizard guy thinks it was someone leaning into the pillar, I still don't buy that theory thought.

Shout out to Honda of Ocala in Florida for their service though! I'm happy this has been resolved.

Oh I did. My first email to the service department at the dealership had a link to this thread once it started gaining some traction.

It's been almost one week since the repair and it hasn't come back. Crossing my fingers its a permanent solution.

The metal in that area is terribly thin. The first time I washed my car, I was on the driver's side with a wash mitt on my left hand doing the roof and placed my right hand where people are experiencing dents. I felt the metal pop and luckily it returned to normal. I guess they use stronger metal where it matters.

Got my dent repaired.. I can still see it, but it's a bit better I guess.. Guess I'll just have to live with it. I was really excited to get it fixed hearing how everyone has had luck. Whatever Honda.. :coffee:

Had mine done yesterday better find a master dent remover, he took three hours because the metal so thin he did it several small times to get it right it's 99% now.

He said it was PITA because of curvature and the thinness of the metal.
