I'm happy for you. Never said it didn't work, but the dealership typically has a healthy markup on these packages relative to what they can be had for elsewhere. YMMV though.

Dont listen to all these guys, some addons are good. I have a wheel and tire package that ive already had to use when I hit a nasty pothole, repaired my rim and a new tire for no out of pocket costs. Also got the interior and paint protection which is also a good investment for the future... if they apply it correctly it actually makes a huge difference
Literally the only coverage worth a damn, especially if you live in MI.

However I had them deny work before so it’s not always good. But on the other hand they cover after market wheels and tires.

New? That's a great deal.

Watch out for the "mandatory" dealer add-ons, though. I called the dealer where I bought mine to get the lowest price, then when I got there they said it'd be $700 more for tinting and door guards that had already been added. Managed to get them to not charge me for it!
May I ask how you were able to get them to not charge you? Im about to buy a civic sport sedan and it comes equipped with door guards and wheel locks which add 400 dollars.

Well, I called the dealership before going up there to ask them what the absolute lowest price was they could sell me the Si for. I was told $23,590. Then when I got up there, the sales guy mentioned the add-ons. I asked to talk to the sales manager and told him I was going elsewhere if I had to pay for those add-ons, since they weren't mentioned on the phone. My Si was the first new car I had bought in over 10 years, so I didn't expect anything else to be added on. If anything, the sales guy should have mentioned it when I called IMO.

If that doesn't work for you, you might be able to get them to not install those add-ons on the next sport that arrives. Apparently when they get a car from Honda, it doesn't have them added yet.

I bought my 19 EX sedan through emails with several dealers. One of the dealerships came in with the lowest sale price. Rather than jump in my car and drive over there, I asked for an OTD price to possibly present to my credit union ( in CA, the zip code is needed to properly calculate tax).

I received a prompt OTD price, which included 1200.00 in dealer installed options! Included in the 1200.00 was Window Etch!? (...did we travel back to 1980? Who the hell etches anymore?).

So, I phoned the sales guy and he said there were no virgin cars available. All in-stock cars have this junk added.

I ended up shopping around some more and finally found the car I wanted--with no add ons-- at a great price. I arrived as a cash buyer and told the email sales guy that I would not accept any F&I backend sales. Transaction went smoothly.

These add-ons used to be part of backend F&I sales. Now, they're figuring a way to simply pack these cars with junk to bump profit at the front end.
