My CTR has 4000kms on it and i have recently got the itch to start doing a few mods.
I drive this car 100kms a day to and from work. If i spend money on some mods i want to be able to feel they have made a difference but i still need it to be comfortable and easy to drive. I intend to do the odd track day in the future.
I have done some research and decided on an RV6 Ceramic coated catted downpipe, PRL intercooler, PRL high volume intake with Hondata and wheels further down the track.
I want to use the best quality products i can get as i need this vehicle to still be reliable.
Obviously the intake is more or less for the whooshy sound which i much prefer to the sound of a loud exhaust.
Without ever driving a modified car before, are these performance mods the best value for money?
What can i expect out of the intake, DP and IC without a tune?
What is the best order to do these in, dp and ic will be done at once so i only have to pull everything apart once.

I would recommend Hondata or Ktuner as your first mod, you get the best bang for your buck.

I second that, a tune first then what mods you can afford after that. I’m running Hondata but hear nothing but good things from both. I did intercooler intake first and didn’t notice much a difference other than sound. If I did it again I would get tune first. Something to check out as well Acuity instruments makes some insane shifter upgrades. Thought you might want to add those to your list of mods to get.

Yeah their shift looks amazing. Massive job to install it by the looks of it.
My reasoning for doing the tune later was so the car is tuned with the bolts on already installed. I assume to get maximum benifit from the bolt ons i would have to go and get it retuned.

You can run on a basemap and don't need to get a tune. Even with a DP there is a basemap for that.

As others have said Hondata/Ktune is the single biggest bang for the buck (and only makes other mods better), but keep in mind that it would also definitely void the warranty if you have one. Other than that, DP and IC with ceramic coats are going to be the best modifications for performance overall, along with lighter wheels. I don't think intake and exhaust are going to do much (exhaust will probably net you some more gains), but they're pretty well designed and you'd really be changing those for the sound over monster performance.

Thanks for your thoughts! The voiding warranty does concern me a little. May go and talk to my local deal, the guy i deal with is in too modded cars so he should he able to give me some idea how hard honda will make it if something goes wrong.
