I like everything but the rear design. I am looking forward to seeing more videos of the rear end. Maybe it will grow on me.

Honda needs to lower the NSX price and get a Type R version out ASAP!
Yea when you compare this to a NSX for over double the price MSRP it's pretty laughable. Sorry but the NSX isn't that cool, I'd be more interested in a non hybrid model than what they offer.

I don't think Honda is interested in dropping the electric part and dramatically lowering the price because they don't have the capacity nor do they have the desire to sell the NSX in volume. I think they would be much better off figuring out how to increase the cooling capacity and turn up the boost. If they could get the gas engine to put out 600hp (so 673hp combined?) and reduce the weight of the car by approximately 200lbs it would be much more competitive at its current price.

"GM and reliable"...now that's funny! I think it is fugly! The rear end looks like a futuristic speed boat. I'd buy a 69 Vette 427ci 435hp L89 4 speed manual first.

The fact that the engine is a NA V8 is a very good sign for reliability. I agree though; I'd be leary of buying the first model year.

I'm a reluctant Corvette fan... Their style is always neat but I think the C8 looks to be chasing after a lot of different supercar designs, while the current one and years past, have mostly a look of their own. My FIL warehouses a bunch of Corvettes for a club and specifically one owner and I drove one in a parade a few weeks back. I can't imagine ever wanting to own one as one of my normal cars. I'm not the right size for one, I don't think.

A lot of people say fugly when looking at the rear end of the CTR. To each their own I guess. You gotta give it to the GM guys for breaking the Corvette mold. First Vette ever to offer a version with no manual option as well as going with a mid-engine build, the supercar route.

Wood buy in 3-4 years after market cools down.
My thought exactly. Let the first year issues get worked out, let everyone else pay over MSRP then pick one up at CarMax with a legit warranty in the 50s and go flog it on track. Win win
My plan also.
I'm a bit disappointed about the lack of manual option. So waiting a bit won't hurt. Who knows?
Anyway if it handles exceptionally, is fast, exciting and reliable I could get over it.

Yeah, even with GTR.

Wishful thinking regarding Honda releasing a (significantly) lower priced NSX. Even if they were to drop the SH AWD and Hybrid system, I’m not sure if that would even drop the price by half, and even then it’s still more than the C8. The NSX is their halo car and they want to showcase their latest and best of what they can do, no matter the cost. I wouldn’t be surprised if the new NSX-R is priced higher than the GTR Nismo.

Best time to buy a vette is the 3rd year.. They don't fix the issues year 2 but usually do by year 3. By year 3 you're also able to get 15-24% off MSRP on a brand new one. YES 24% I've seen it. It's usually the high optioned ones that have sat for a year but it is possible. I got 21% off mine brand new and by the time I got it, they had fixed the overheating issues by adding secondary radiator and better supercharger cooling.

I'm kind of disappointed about the lack of manual transmission in the new Vette, though I understand doing it to keep costs down. That said, I like the driver-focused cockpit and the performance you get for the buck. The design is a little polarizing, but not more than the CTR is.

Actually, if there's one engine that GM makes rock solid reliable it's their NA V8's. They're usually bulletproof and last a long time. It's been like that for a long time now.

I'm impressed with the pricing of the Corvette C8. A starting price of $60K is extremely reasonable for a mid engined vehicle that gets to 60 in UNDER 3 seconds. Thats amazing. As far as looks go, it looks pretty good and I think it's one of those cars that just looks better in person. Overall, its looking to be a very solid car.

Yeah, I don't know what he was trying to do by saying/teasing that. When I watched it last night, I was also thinking that's the same thing as the car being $59,999 because who doesn't wanna maximize profit.

I agree with the back end of the CTR...not my favorite aspect of the car.

I wasn't so worried about the engine. More so about all of the electronic stuff that GM has had poor performance with in the recent past according to a buddy who has one. He says it is a love-hate relationship.
