Wrong viscosity

You will need 3 cans. Try visiting your local Honda to get an oil filter. I’d recommend the A01 version. Stay away from the A02. If that doesn’t work grab a K&N on Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/Motul-MTL104...Motul+300v&qid=1563491099&s=automotive&sr=1-8

So Autozone has the Oil Filter for Type R - Model # 15400plma0 Oil Filter $9. (is this the one i should buy?)

Also that Oil you linked..Ill have to buy 3 of those for one oil change?

Autozone doesnt have any Motul Oils...they only has Castrol. Do I have to buy Motul or is there a equally great brand from Castrol?

Oil changes are very easy. You just need a Jack, some jack stands and real basic tools. If you/ your friend has those is super simple.

Get 6 quarts (needs 5.2 I think?) of any major brand 0W-20 oil and an oem filter and boom you’re done. If you don’t want to drive to the dealership get a k&n or whatever from Autozone people make it seem like rocket science.

It is the washer that goes on the oil drain bolt, it should be replaced each time the bolt is removed.

Because of this, I’m gonna give you one of the best advices you’re going to get in this thread;

1. F*ck Motul
2. F*ck AutoZone
3. F*ck A01 vs A02
4. F*ck Prime
5. F*ck doing it yourself

Go to the dealership and have them do an oil change for you using 4.5 QTS of Genuine Honda Ultimate Full Synthetic 0W-20 Engine Oil and a Honda Genuine Oil Filter whether it is A01 or A02.

Honda will tell you that oil filter changes are done every other oil change. Refuse. Always change your oil filter.

A01 is better than A02 but you’re changing the filter frequently enough to not matter. A01 is discontinued so you would have to find leftovers somewhere.

You don’t know what a crush washer is, that’s evidence that you should stay far away from any jacks, jack stands wrenches or torque wrenches or doing the oil change yourself until you gain some experience -over time- through art of reading. Key word is “over time” not “the night before via a forum”

A crush washer is a washer that’s replaced on every oil change. It goes on the drain bolt, it is a one time use and it has two jobs: one is to prevent oil leaks and the other is to protect your pan from overtorquing, to an extent.

Last I checked Norm Reeves Honda Irvine had a coupon for a synthetic oil change for $50. Just have them do it. I used coupon and it was worth it.

edit they raised the price to $54, but still worth to save the hassle:
https://www.normreeveshondairvine.com/service/service-specials/

just paying approx $20 for the labor.

lol tru. Shouldn't have to jack the car for oil change unless you're really fat so not like op was going to die though lol. I did my first at 6k miles, 4.5 months, 60% on mm. used mobil1 5w20 and m1-101a filter. Now i have 12200 miles and 10% on MM (didn't reset to see how it tracked). Only 3 months for those 6k (car is almost 8 months old) ordered m1-101a filter again today. probably going to use a mobil1 5w-20 again or even 5w-30. I feel like it will be better with the turbo at 27psi on e40 tune, though all my temps stay low so i dunno. $12 filter $23 oil and piece of mind doing it myself and collecting sample for BSL. Whats the torque spec of the drain plug though? I didn't use a torque wrench the first time...

Hand tight for filter, or 1/4-3/4 turn after gasket contact on the filter. Drain plug is torqued at 30 ft-lb. After awhile you can muscle memory it and don’t need torque wrench.
