SPEAKING OF THE DEVIL... I hit a god damn huge pot hole that i instantly thought cracked my rim and .2 seconds later my tire was completely flat. Lucky for me i literally live 2 blocks away from the exit so i was able to coast it home. I have wheel and tire package but unfortunately they are making me bring the whole car into the dealer to fix the tire. I asked them if i could just bring the wheel/tire instead of going through the whole process of towing it there and what not but they rejected that. :))))))))) Does anyone know how much the OEM tires are? I rather just go to a tire shop and buy it myself than do all this shit. Mind you this has happened to me before and the dealer i have to go to is like 35 minutes away because the dealer thats 5 minutes away from my house doesnt have the machine to do it??? :))))))))) Last time i was there, i kid you not, it took me 4 hours. They bullshit so much i was so close to leaving and buying the tire myself... BUT YEA. Also FUCK NJ for their shitty highways...
OE tires are around $300 each new from a store. Look in the classifieds here and you can probably find a take off for $200 or wheel/tire combo for $300.

The OEM wheels aren't as weak as they look. I have hit two huge potholes that I thought for 100% certain they were going to wreck my wheels but nope. Yesterday however, I hit the granddaddy of them all...part of the highway that is under construction had a 5-6 inch gap with blacktop sticking up on the other side right in my f%%cking lane and I couldn't do a damn thing about it because the truck in front of me obscured it until it was way too late...I was going 65 mph at the time and I just grit my teeth and nailed it and I was just waiting for the WUMP WUMP WUMP WUMP of a warped wheel and blistered tire but I got lucky yet again.

I am pretty sure the Honda Roadside Assistance plan that came with my car would send a tow truck if I got a flat tire from a pot hole and then tow my car to the Honda Dealership. I don't know if it is the closest Honda dealership or the one of your choice. They sold us cars with no spare tires, so you have to rely on the pump that is in the trunk and Honda Roadside Assistance to keep you from getting stranded in the middle of no where.

Just wanted to update on this and confirm that my rim/wheel is in fact cracked. I just hope they have extra rims in stock :(

Welp, so bad news. The wheel and tire package that i was given only covers COSMETIC stuff for the rim/wheel and tire replacement. So i would have to buy the rim brand new. :dunno:

If you have a good sized wallet and don’t think you will run into this problem again, and like the handling ride, go for oem replacement.

Otherwise I recommend 18s. I think USR has some 18s.

$940: https://www.unitedspeedracing.com/index.php?id_product=188&controller=product

$670: https://www.unitedspeedracing.com/index.php?id_product=91&controller=product

And these won’t “break” the bank, and tire pricing is stellar in this size.

Ack sorry to hear that man. Suggest looking for a used OEM rim/tire combo. Not sure where you are located but hopefully you’d be able to locate some locally. Can probably find a lightly used rim/tire combo for $300 or so. Much cheaper than a rim from the dealer. I think they are $1k+

It seems i was misinformed!!! I have the "Global Cosmetic Tire & Wheel Protection" which does cover replacements of wheels!! I was promised that i don't have to pay. Just for a heads up if anybody goes through this, make sure you call ahead of time and make sure they have the type r wheels in stock because if not they will have to order them. If you get there and realize you need a new rim/wheel then most likely your car will have to stay there until the wheel arrives. As much as i want to believe they wont touch my car i can't let it stay there lol. But thank you to everyone chipping in! I must certainly will look into getting more beefy tires

Sounds promising. Let us know if they pay up.

I have the fidelity premium coverage that i purchased through my Honda Dealer in Baltimore, MD.

I bent one wheel and got a screw in a different tire the same day. Took it in.

Wheel and tire replaced - $1850

One day of rental car also covered. ONLY ONE DAY REGARDLESS OF REPAIR TIME

My policy was ~$750 so the policy has paid for itself almost threefold

I now have two more bent wheels....

The policy I have states there is a 5-year, no cap on $$ coverage. Doubt Fidelity knew exactly how prone these wheels are to bending so I am not hopeful that taking it again so soon will end with the same outcome. Bought the car in May. First bent wheel was end of June.

So you have bent 3 wheels in 1 month? Man how yall drivin these things? I live on some of the worst roads no issues now in 2 years. Ive hit a few that would compact your spine and make your teeth hurt still no issues. Hope your insurance does right by you.

Yeah I know all cities have bad roads but Baltimore is incredibly awful. I intentionally drive cautiously in the city but still end up hitting them sometimes. First wheel was replaced no problem. I'll update about the other two after it plays out.

Definitely opting for some 18" wheels with meatier tires when the seasons change.

Fixing wheels cuts into car washing time, track time, movie time, and probably work time if you don’t have another car. I’m lucky I do but still don’t want to waste my time.

Evasive tested the new Supra with new set of wheels and it came about a second slower than a Type-R with 18s and better than greasy oem tires.
