I'm going camping this coming weekend, and I've noticed that the car beeps incessantly when I'm listening to the radio in acc mode and open/close a door with the key in my pocket. We typically use the car radio for background music with the windows open.

Without leaving the keyfob in the car, is there a way to disable the constant beeping? It's going to annoy the other campers.

Also, is there a way to disable the 1hr timeout? I've been in my car on a long lunch and at the hour mark, acc mode turns off. Also also, the windows won't go up/down after a few min.

All this automation is driving me nuts!

Yeah, but it's mostly when unloading and packing up. Exactly when it's most annoying to have the beeping happen.

Well! I should have heeded your warning about watching my battery level!

I put it in accessory mode at the campground to charge my phone and another device. Radio was on but not playing. Also have a dashcam plugged in. In probably less than 2 hours I had a dead battery. :-(

Ah well.

Windows are RAP, which is different than accessory. RAP aka retained accessory power stops when you open the door. Only way to get it back is to cycle back to ignition and off. Hard to explain lol. Also I'm surprised your battery lasted two hours. My stock battery used to die in 10 minutes lmao. I have an optima yellow top now but I still never let it sit for more than a few minutes if that. I always just turn the car on if I'm chillin.

Yikes. Leaving your car in accessory mode for extended periods of time is a big no-no in any car, let alone ours with our crap batteries. I'm shocked it lasted as long as it did.

Seems there is an upside to having the Start & Stop system on the EU MT Civics: we get a strong, 60 AMPs battery:). Had the car in accessory mode for hours with the music playing at loudish volume, without any issues (having also the Premium SS which takes more juice than the regular one).
However, the constant beeping while in accessory mode (regardless where the key fob is) is annoying. I think it’s a japanesse thing, my previous Toyota had it also.

My old '03 SI never had any battery drain issues and I did this all the time!

All this new-fangled tech.... bleh.

I guess I'll look at a better battery or invest in some solar chargers.

I managed to get all the beeps shut off except for the acc-mode on and walkaway with the key in my pocket, which I guess I won't need to worry about anymore.

The fast, high-pitched beeper is located just underneath and inside the rear bumper and is easily unplugged.

I'll take a look. I couldn't find a YouTube video. Got a link to a "how to"?
