Lowered the front to 22ish, the rear has the stock 32 psi. Trunk empty. I'm sure im releasing the pedal too quick or applying too much throttle. Either way I need a RMM
Take the fronts down to 20psi. And take the rears of up max tire pressure.

There's other stuff as well but trying to help you do this on the cheap (free). Instead of having to purchase slicks, RMM, spring spacers for the rear, etc, etc.

Since you have the launch dialed in, can you give us some advice? RPM, using launch control, etc. Can you recommend a RMM to use? I am getting crazy wheel hop. My trap speed is good, so 13's must be in the 60'
Just saw this, this is what I did:

Front Tire pressure fiddle - I got best results at 21psi, used chalk to get max contact, any less inside bowed a bit, any more wasn't full contact and got hop
Nintendo Code to get the nannies off
Brake Hold ON
Stage - then Brake to make your brake hold catches you
3200 launch set on the KTuner, just enough to get it to bounce and hold - car will be rocking a bit but with the brake hold on you won't move
Light changes - SLOWLY let clutch out : Clutch it out - don't side step have to feather it while feeding slowly - if you go to far you will spin, you want to ride the boost bubble/max traction out of the hole. If you come off too fast DO NOT PUSH YOUR CLUTCH back in while under throttle - will eat a few years off the clutch as you will only partically do it due to your frame of trying to feather.
That's it - repeated it a few times on the cheap tires.

I also no-lift shifted and watched the rpm's closely - don't try that unless you have alot of experience - even pro's money shift... I have around 300 passes on around 30 different cars.

Just go and try, best way is Slicks aired down, find your sweet spot and side step, but until then have to feather out of the hole.

Awesome thank you! I will try out this Friday when I go back to the track. Looks like you aren't too far from PBIR yourself. Would be awesome to meet up there one day.
One follow up question. When getting ready to launch at 3200rpm, are you doing full throttle of partial at the staging lights?
I also ordered the Hasport 62a, but it arrives saturday

Man I gotta ask....who were you tuned by? Also, what were your pump gas numbers (I'm assuming this was on flex fuel)? There's probably noway I can get this in a CVT but am very interested even still. Really awesome numbers. Thanks!

You could probably get that number, but im not sure how long the CVT would like it. But if you want to buy a new CVT go for it! Ill cheer you on lol

You don't have a lot of faith in the CVT. I fully understand though based on what you went through.

BTW: It's not a matter of probably getting that number. WE CAN get that number mang. :p I don't care for the trap speed. Only the 1/4 mile time. Yes, I'm very determined. Have been even before getting the car. It's exciting ish. Especially when we are the underdogs. I won't be utilizing drag slicks. I don't go to the movies or grocery store with slicks.

Gotta think outside the box and don't focus on pure power/torque. Think gear ratios, rotational mass, lightweight, cooling, etc. We can do it bro.

I'm still very impressed with those trap speeds. Much respect!

Ive promised myself Im taking mine on the e30 tune down to the 1/4 mi this fall in Ennis Tx. I want to lay down a high 13 at least. I may have to go back to stock wheel and tire upfront though, since I run 19s. Maybe Ill take them, run it on the 19 and then the 17s

Big thanks for your feedback. That Flex Fuel/W1 turbo combo is killa. Really nice bro!

I just got back from Innovative Motorworks moments ago. Unfortunately, the CVT will not allow dyno tuning. Front wheels spinning only puts the car in a limp home mode when the ECU doesn't see the rear wheels spinning as well. So no cool dyno plots. Oh well!

Did get a street tune though for my specific modifications. No comment on that. Not one for talking, only numbers. So I'm out of the TSP Stage 1 loop now. Will see how things go at the track. Lots of testing to do. ;)

Can't say enough about Derek Robinson. Very professional! Very cool to work with. He gave me the tools to work with. Up to me to make it all come together.

Only enough throttle to get it to bounce on the two step... FYI, the CVT will be faster in 1/4 to a mod point, after that CVT will not be able to handle it. Mod for mod in the 1/4 up through basic boot ons and tune up to around Ethanol point the cvt will be faster on street tires. After that point though the manual will start to shine... Now if they ever put the 10 speed auto in the civic will be another story, it will be faster uo till its failure point. I have raced both, my drag car is currently built auto, when it lets go will be faceplated 6 speed:) IF I was serious about time woukd go with a glide... It is harder to run fast and consistent in a manual, but they handle more abuse and the fun factor and engagement keeps me going back to them!

Just got back from the track. I’m so close! It’s killing me! Going back again next week with the hasport 62a installed.
Keep in mind it’s 85 degrees and 70% humidity :/

You got 5mph on what I ran my 13.91 at:) That 60ft is where the 13's are at man! Play with the tire pressures and the launch, CVT will launch differently than mine, brake stand it to as much as you can without pushing through the gates, if you deep stage you can actually hit it with a slight roll if you time it right! Your on the right track and PBIR is a damn good track with good track prep, one thing to remember is the prep is typically better after the big boys run, so maybe skip a pass, then when they start running jump to the end of the line so you can be first right after the caged guys go. On cvt i would air down even more, probably 21psi to Start, then no point in going below around 18/19 psi and if your going through the water box don't, go around it, and don't do anything more than a quick spin to clean the tires. No need to heat them as they are street tires, and if you spin them too much the tire pressure will go up in them. FYI, that mph will get you into the mid to low 13's...

Also our cars HATE heat, if you change nothing else and go in say November, you'll be 13's all day....

@bahndrvr knows what he's talking about. I'm cool on the launching myself and really appreciated the advice you gave (and are still giving). Big props to you man. I'm simply waiting for cooler temps. I'm chasing after PRL Motorsports street tire 1/4 mile times of 13.1-13.3. Just waiting for the right temps and air density. ;) In the meantime, just testing ideas up until then.

@BoostedDreams Really love your enthusiasm bro. Keep at it! You'll be giving advice to a lot of guys before you know it.

Awesome! I have no experience with CVT's. I lowered it down to about 21psi this past Friday and was able to get out of the hole with minimal hop feathering the clutch from 3k. I just have to work on the technique more because I come out of the hole slow and cautiously to avoid wheel hop, but that slows down my time.
I installed the 62A mount yesterday as well and I think that will be a big help. That hesitation between shifts, especially 1st -> 2nd, is GONE. I wont know if it helped with wheel hop until I take it to the track. I can't even avoid going around the water box lately because they are letting too many people hang out in the staging lanes.
Stoked to get into the 13's next time around. Thanks for all the advice thus far!
