Jesus I'm 300lbs it takes a good couple hours before my upper back start to feel tired. I would have just swapped the seat, the ridgeline is in a competitive market place, as such i would have gone with a brand that has a more extensive background in FULL size pickups. having said that no car will have better resell than a honda and no honda will have better resell than a Type R. Either way, to each his own. Congrats.

Could lay it on some bags...air ride would make it more versatile for your line of work. Then if you felt the need to get it in you could slam it on command.

Well guys I did it, I’m saying goodbye. I might get a lot of hate for this but it was a much needed change. I had a 2019 CTR that I daily drove for work. I drove for 8 hours, getting in and out of the car more than 30+ times a day. It was starting to kill my back, well I always had lower back issues and it just made it worse. The R was a great car. I got to meet a lot of awesome people and got a lot of praises for it everywhere I went. But my job is what killed it for me. I was always on this 50/50 chance of trading it in. I always worried what kind of places will I be driving to. City or highway roads? Gravel or muddy roads? Up and down mountain unpaved roads? Everytime I drove somewhere for work and my gps says turn onto, I look at the road and I’m like here we go again... So, I made up my mind. I enjoyed the R while I had it. I put about 11k miles since feb 2019. I installed a injen intake and aFe exhaust on it. Now, it’s coming off and being sold. I ended trading it for a 2019 Ridgeline RTL-T AWD. Which for me, made more since. And hey I kept it in the Honda family still. LOL!! I drove it for two full days for work, and all I can say is I don’t regret it one bit. I don’t worry now about where I’m going. And plus the little things add to my comfort like “adjustable lumbar support”. Hahaha!! I’m going to miss the CTR a lot. I hope I don’t get too much hate for this post. A lot of you guys helped me a lot when I had questions about my R and I really want to thank you all!

Serious lol. Who in the hell in their right mind would buy this car to drive it 8 hours per day "getting in and out 30+ times" and assume it'll be okay? I guess I don't believe everything damn thing I read on the internet. Folks need to not post on internet if they can't take any sort of disagreement or criticism. Geez
I guess I didn’t say it, but I bought the car before I started this job I have now.

I also said goodbye to mine. I miss it too. The car is not for everyone. I realized it after the fact. Bad roads up here in the Northeast, even if it's not winter. Enjoy the Ridgeline though. The Unibody ride is hard to beat, much more comfortable than any "real' truck.

The bad roads here are terrible, but not quite terrible enough for me to forgo this car.

The Ridgeline is a good truck, don’t let anyone else tell you it isn’t a real one. Those same people buy a full-size they can’t drive and then never tow anything over 2000 lbs.

We have frost heaves some places up here in NH all year round the size of a VW bug. Went through a set of rims and tires on my right side on the CTR and mangled the front lip. Glad it was fake carbon fiber.......

It’s not the constant sitting that is an issue. The seats are super comfy. But they are rather deep.

I’m a fit guy, hit the gym 5-6 days a week, 10% body fat, and I never skip leg day. And yet I can find the civic seats to get annoying after the 9th or 10th time I’m getting in and out, in the same day. It has to do with my height... I’m tall as fuck which doesn’t help, but still... never assume you know what someone else is going through.

I had a 370z Nismo before my CTR and not once did I ever even considering getting in and out of a car being annoying. I’ve been in lowered cars all my life. That 370z was fucking brutal to get in and out of, on a busy day. High bolsters, low seating position, ends up causing issues.

And I don’t fault OP for buying the CTR for DD purposes. No idea why anyone else is either.

no hate from me. We all gotta do what we need to do to keep things moving. My question is always this however; why didn't you think of these things before before you bought it? I'm sure you test drove it? If not, saw the countless review videos on youtube..etc. Or was it simply the hype? Now that it's over and reality kicked it, you're done w/ it? Either way, good luck.

There’s about 46000 different scenarios one should think about prior to buying a car. Was OP supposed to sit there with a pen and paper and write everything down, then score them in what’s most important to least?

Most people would never do that.

OP bought a car that he wanted and liked. It just didn’t work out. Many dealerships wouldn’t even allow you to test drive a CTR. Then what? And what’s a 10-15 minute test drive going to reveal?

you're right, I just counted. There is indeed 46,000 diff scenarios. But if I had a bad back all my life, i would consider that to be my top 5 scenario prior to buying a car, specifically named a Type-R. :dunno:

I think you’re missing the fundamental point that a 15 minute test drive won’t reveal much, and OP isn’t going to spend his test drive getting in and out 20 times. Some shit isn’t exactly obvious. And again, the CTR seats are as comfy as they come.

I swore I said I bought it before I even started this job. Hahaha!! I loved the R, and going to miss it. But this was a better choice for me
