I got my 2016 EX-L Coupe a couple weeks ago. Did a 36 month lease for $281/mo including tax, fees and $500 grad. Zero down. No trade. Included window tint and Lo-Jack system.

Payoff amount is $22,301 if I wanted to buy it instead of continuing the lease.

Some dealers in our area, has the "click for e-price." Went to a dealer early this evening with a friend who wanted the EX-T. Sticker is $23,035 and the e-price they quoted her was $21,569 + tax, license & registration, gap and extended warranty. We tried to negotiate with monthly payment instead which was left at $3500 down, $359 per month, 60 months, but without extended warranty. Should she pull the trigger or not? She's nearly maxed out on her monthly budget for a car. What do you guys think? Is there a cheaper place to get an extended warranty?

New to the forum. I'm about to sign (tomorrow!) for a new 2016 Civic EX-L with sensing - selling price of $22999, OTD of $25320 (I live in CA).

-> Is that an ok deal?

I'm getting the cosmic metallic blue and there is only ONE currently available in the whole state (EX-L with sensing). I can get a different color for about $200 less (from a different dealer).

Thanks for your help!

In Massachusetts I drove the EX-T w/S home for 22.4 OTD, so I think EX-L in California shouldn't cost more than 24k.

I don't know about extended warranty, but I got the same car (EX-T w/S) for 20.6 + tax and fees = 22.4 OTD cash of course.

Hey. I would wait until the end of June or even 4th of July for the car now that May is gone.
I would also not pay any more than 22000$ (including tax license registration) (excluding gap and extended warranty).
Finally, I would like to tell you that APR% is negotiable. So do your research and find out about your credit score and then try to get 0.9% if your credit is great and 1.9% if your credit is good.

hope this was informative.

Unless you're a big baller. I wouldn't sign.
I hope you read this before you pull the trigger. Try to get the price near 24,000$ (or even lower if you dare) because I think that's a great price.

If you have the patience, i would recommend doing a truecar submission and then they'll keep calling you. Eventually, they're going to need to meet their sales quota. So use that to your advtg. Towards the end of the month (if youre ready), say "24,000$ Out the door, and I will sign tonight."
They'll try their best to make it happen.

Here's a few tips.

Don't show any signs of attachment to the car.
Wait for end of June if you can. (Dealers always restock)
Do a lot of research!!!
APR is negotiable (it says so on the financing paper)

Best wishes!

Thank you. I kinda advised her to see what kind of deal they will have later with more holidays coming up. She's got great credit 790-810 I believe.

That's great credit. She could probably get 0%.
You advised her well. Wait for incentives! Good luck!

We were already in the car trying to drive off and both sales staff and management were throwing #s at the last minute, but all they did was just switched different #s around. I felt bad for her, she's really hoping to come home with a car tonite but glad she stuck to her guns. Being the last day of the month and near closing time, I was surprised they were NOT willing to budge anymore on the e-price to meet their quota. We're hoping they would as I bought my car at the same dealer. I told them I was bringing another potential buyer to them. Here's to hoping for that 0-0.9% interest and below or at invoice price in the next 6 months if not the next holiday. I'll advise her to wait a little longer.

If I was you and your already paying 23k for a exl plus HS. Why not just get the Touring model? Your only about 1300 away maybe less in your state. Your getting alot more extras for 1300.00. The headlights go for that alone...

1. Built in Nav..... yes the car has AA and CP but what happens when your phone keeps updating and not working with them...

2. Led Headlights..... better visibility and sick as hell..

3. Better speakers.... 450 watts vs 180 watts...

4. Heated rear seats.... take or leave them
I.rather have rear vents...

5. Side mirror blinkers.. nice.touch should be. Standard on all models.

I could be missing some minor ones... But you see my point... 1300.00 away from the touring model gets you all this... if you where.buying a ext at 20k it would not be worth 4300 inless you wanted the extras but.your so.close in price..

Silly question (first time buyer) - If the dealer and my price are off by about $500, are there any tactics you guys recommend i can try to help further reduce the OTD price?

Do the 17.7k before TTL in the pricing spreadsheet sound reasonable for an LX CVT? I sent my guy an competitor's invoice (from out of state) that was about 18k before TTL and he said that was an excellent price and would be hard to beat
I got my LX for around 17.7k before TTL. I think it is aggressive. However, Arizona has the highest TTL.

Heard a friend got his lx around 27,000, leasing at $348/month for 40 month, but I'm not sure if he get ripped-off or he told me the wrong model.
