Curious if anyone has installed this hood yet?

Definitely interested at that price vs. $800 for a CF one. Curious how well plastic would hold up, though.

I was also wondering this considering it's made of ABS not aluminum like OEM

How difficult was the installation? The website says direct bolt on with no modification required? I assume this would indicate no drilling required? Did you look at having the hood painted? Wondering how much that would cost

The latch too. Definitely curious about this as a way to reduce weight and add the hood scoop, but I don't want it melting or flying open on the highway lol.

Yeah I would wonder how it would handle the extreme heat, also with it being so light would you need hood pins ect?

Fit looks pretty good from the pics. Was there any gaps anywhere? Also were there holes and mounting points for the latches or will this require pins?

My Concerns,

1) . The hood warping due to heat cycles. (*also and issue with CF hoods)
2) . Getting a good paint match on ABS tends to be difficult
3) . IMO the cost is questionable. A steel rep isn't that much more and the OEM hood isn't that expensive in itself.

I suppose it wouldn't be horrible if you were just going to wrap it, or had a cheap means of getting it painted.

I contacted ABS Dynamics regarding an installation guide for the hood... they said they don't have one and simply suggested going to a body shop.

2nd on these concerns. Also the lightness of it, will it fly off at highway speed at 60mph+
