Iā€™m excited for a next gen Nissan Z already with that VR30DDTT engine

It may just be me, but the car/import hobby is simply more fun with EVOs running around. Saw another article yesterday that the STi desperately needs an EVO counterpart and, well, I agree (through no basis of fact, just a feeling).

Is ok. The Evo got the CTR now to compete with lol. And the N division of Hyundai

Same. Can't wait for that 400hp twin-turbo.

Mitsu is struggling in American market, and their brand is going downhill toward cheap and affordable, opposite of Kia and Hyundai sadly. They're focusing on building SUV's to stay afloat because that's where the market is now. I don't have high hope that the Evo is coming anytime soon. Sad because I had an Evo X, and that car was a beast.

I thought there'd be a new Z soon, when I bought my 2016 370z Nismo. It's now three years later and still nothing.

I get the feeling the Z is dead. It has not changed at all since 2009, save for some very very basic changes. Nissan is all about being frugal since Carlos Ghosn took over- his replacement seems to be just as cheap... That makes it so much harder for a business case for a sports coupe in today's market.

I liked my Nismo, but honestly, it doesn't hold a flame to the CTR. After my first week of CTR ownership, I couldn't help but think what a turd that Nismo felt like. It costs more than a CTR, doesn't have half the tech, weighs more even though it has two less doors and seats, and the CTR is much more confidence inspiring when being pushed hard.

Infiniti has been using the 3.0T for several years now and still nothing from nissan. Rest in peace, sweet Z.

I can't really speak with any authority, but I thought I recently saw on here that Mitsubishi's auto sales have slowly been trending upwards, over the past few years.

I agree their cars are shit and very economy based... I liked the idea of the Evo X, but after seeing it's interior, I was really put off. I guess I'm not an all out racer- I like some nice things in my cabin. That Evo was spartan as fuuuuuu.

But, a cool car nonetheless. I feel Mitsubishi would have sold many more if they dumped a few extra dollars into the interior. I want them to become well established again and actually build cars that don't look like they came from the 99 cent discount bin.

They can do it... But brand perceptions die hard. People are slow to change how they feel about a brand... Makes it hard for Mitsubishi to start dumping huge money into their cars. Mazda has been trying to go premium for a couple years now (with their current push) and they still struggle big time.

It's not just Nissan that cheaps out. I have a NSX and the thing doesn't even come with a decent infotainment system, no blind spot monitoring (the car is super wide), and the back up camera is basically useless.

But I agree with you in that Nissan really drags out their platforms. Most of the cars in their line up haven't been updated in decades. And they wonder why sales are slipping.... lol

Subbie does the same with their EJ engine. I didn't consider the STI when I was shopping around for a car cause Subbie has kept that engine for so long and I rather have more updated engine if I'm paying so much money.

I was planing on buying the next gen type r in 3 years, but Iā€™ve had so many problems with the paint on my current Si. Iā€™ve had 2 areas repainted under warranty due to clear coat problems
There is a 3rd area of clear coat bubbling off the paint that I need to show the dealership. The car has 4,000 miles! I have owned 4 Honda/Acura cars in my life. Never have I seen such horrible paint quality on a Honda. Itā€™s something Iā€™d expect on a ford or dodge. I will be looking at the evo, Sti for my next car. I also think Toyota is coming out with a new MR 2

just something else to add to the stable. I pray it comes with a 4g63. Probably not. The 4b11 is a great engine, box engine just like our Type R.
