1 year anniversary. Pretty slow build progress compared to others but I'm happy with how the car looks and feels.

In the past year I've driven 2800km and installed the following:

- Swift springs
- Volk TE37
- OEM Honda Access grille garnish
- EVS Tuning cf wing foil
- Seeker shift knob
- JDM clear sidemarkers
- Spoonsports rear view mirror

I have not felt the need to change anything performance related as the car is more than fast enough for me.

The R looks like a super model. Love it! But I think the only thing lacking are nice center caps to give the gorgeous rims a finished look. I’ve never warmed to cars with missing caps. Also, how about installing a quality strut bar?

I'm used to the no center cap look since all my previous wheels/cars never had center caps. I briefly thought about a strut bar when I first got the car but I don't see any benefit of it for a car that maybe gets driven once a week at most.

Installed Suma Performance blue tint wide view side mirror glass. I opted for these over the Spoon ones because I wanted to retain the defrost function and didn't really like the idea of just taping on the Spoon glass on top of the OEM glass. The install was very straight forward as everything was plug and play. A direct OEM like fit with no issues.

Finally ordered the Acuity pedal spacer as I always found it difficult to heel toe in this car. The pedal spacing was just too far for my liking compared to my previous cars. It took about 15 minutes to install the pedal spacer. It would've been quicker if it wasn't so cramped. I'm currently trying out the 'C' position, but may switch to B as it's still not close enough for me.

Mugen front lip and side skirts installed. Decided not to get the rear pieces as it felt too "heavy" and didn't flow with the rest of the body lines on the car. I'll wait for TAS to see if any companies release an interesting rear piece/diffuser.

FYI, JDM flame red is the same as USDM rallye red. I was skeptical on ordering the paint matched parts at first but it turns out they are exactly the same colour in person.

Some quick phone photos for now until I get the time to take better photos.

I knew I had to have TE37's on the car as it's been my all time favourite wheel. It didn't really matter that everyone had a set on their FK8 already. I placed the order in August and recieved them in late October. I was a great day to finally see the wheels in person. I chose to get the wheels in formula silver as it's been a finish that's been on my list for a while. After the wheels arrived, I ordered a set of 255/40/18 Yokohama AD08R's for them and had them mounted and balanced at work.

That was pretty much it for my 2018 as it was quickly getting colder here in Vancouver, BC. So I prepped the car for storage with a good cleaning and then disconnected the battery and threw the car cover on for the winter.

2019 rolled around and I just couldn't wait to get the wheels on the car. So I headed over to a friends house cause I'm not allowed to work on the car in my condo parkade and we swapped the TE37's on. I knew going into it that with this sizing 18x9.5 +38 255/40/18, I would have to do some fender mods that I've read about to avoid rubbing. Once we put the wheels on, I could then clearly see the exact spots where the tire would make contact with the body. The first is the front tab that the fender line bolts to by the sidemarker. I had that portion of the fender liner trimmed, and the tab bent flat towards the body. That solved all the rubbing in the front of the car. The rear I heard that you had to cut the metal body that sticks outwards towards the flare. I wanted to avoid that for the time being as I didn't want to cut into my brand new car, so I had the flare trimmed and left the metal body part intact. Well to my surprised, that solved my rubbing issue. I will still rub on the metal flare on the rare occasion that I go over a big dip in the road at a higher speed but as for daily driving, I have eliminated 95% of the rubbing in the rear.

Not sure why Honda didn't include the fuel filler cap cover but for any Canadian 2017/2018 owners I ordered the following part from my local dealership and it just snapped into place.

Where did you order your wheels from?

Mugen kit looks good! Too bad it doesn’t come in PMM. I have to find someone that’s willing to paint it and they’re charging an arm and leg.

Sick ride man. Loving the Mugen and TE37 combo.
