So, my 2016 LX's lease is about to end and I'm thinking either buy it and keep it or trade in for 2019 ex-l or sport. My question, is it worth it? Obviously, my LX is missing safety features that 2019 LX has, but overall, is it a good idea? I'm also thinking about 2019 Insight.

Which trim has 1.5T?

What are your goals? Best FE possible or performance?

And is it a MT? Iā€™d say keep it if so, since it has a great balance between every performance metric. FE, cost, reliability, etc.

no, it is CVT 2.0, not a racer :) My goals are to have the latest tech in terms of Honda, especially safety, performance not so, but switching to turbo from NA would be good

Honestly, I always have my lane mitigation off because itā€™s buggy. Sometimes itā€™ll tell me Iā€™m departing my lane when Iā€™m not. I assume because of the condition of the road.

The sensor the senses cars in front of me while I have cruise control on is a pretty nice feature.

I donā€™t like the sensing enough to where Iā€™d have to have it on another vehicle in the future. And I just noticed my windshield was chipped, and the sensing is going to make the repair 2-3x the normal cost of a windshield repair from what Iā€™ve seen.

Just a suggestion. Looks like you already got a Model S, so I'd say go for the Model 3 Performance edition, to stay in the same brand family. And gas is creeping higher by the day in Calif. The Insight is only a stopgap car before Honda releases a long-range EV. Toyota is already accelerating EV introduction, so Honda should be the next one to fall in line.

thanks, that does make sense and I am ready to get a Model 3, but this is a car that my wife and my mom share once in a while, that is where we got only 7000 miles in 3 years, my mom is afraid of EVs lol

Then a new Insight or Accord would be perfect since sensing is standard on all trims.

I vote Insight. Seems to be sort of an upscale "Civic" hybrid. 55mpg city is crazy good. Even has some pep to it as I've seen a test of it doing 0-60 in 7.9 seconds.

I've had the opportunity to drive both. I would have bought the Insight but got a sweet deal on a Civic hatch. Both are great.

Get the Insight if you value fuel economy over performance. That said, I felt the Insight still performed well, but no where near as fast as a Civic 1.5T. The Insight has a very nice interior, the updated head unit I feel should have been included with the refreshed 2019 Civic.

If you want performance, definitely go with the 1.5T (EX and higher have it for 2019, EX-T and higher for 2018 and before), but you could probably save some money and find a 2018 model out there. Unless you reallyyyy need that volume knob! :)

In summary, can't go wrong with either!

What will it cost you to buy it?
