Yes, it is a type of resonator, but can be used as a stand alone muffler as well. It goes where the resonator would go. Find a good muffler guy, they can do wonders to quiet down a loud exhaust. My mechanic recommend one he uses, and the guy literally lives in his shop. He looks homeless, but he has been doing mufflers since the 70's, so he knows how to quiet a loud exhaustThe glasspack is in the same section as the resonator? I did create a thread for 2.5" muffler recommendations, but haven't received any responses to date.

I love the completely clear side markers, and the rims, too.
Getting back to the quieting down a performance Exhaust, what you would want to do is install a Baffled Glasspack, like the one I installed in the pics below. It will quiet things down (about 20 percent or so less noise), and eliminate some of the droning. The downside is that you would void the Exhaust warranty because you would have to cut a section of the pipe and weld it to the Glasspack. Basically your muffler guy would become the guy you go to if there were any issues with the exhaust, such as premature wear, rust, etc. Also you probably could not sell it because now the Glasspack is part of the exhaust pipingThe glasspack is in the same section as the resonator? The Clear ones I have I got from Asia, and I set them to the side because I love the new ones I am running. If you want to know about the ones I currently run, PM me pleaseI love the completely clear side markers, and the rims, too.
Any idea where the best place to buy the side markers is? I saw some older threads that said most of them leak water and to buy from an ebay listing. That listing isn't active anymore, though.
EDIT: Seems like the thread below has a decent vendor for the side markers. Now just gotta find the rims.

Excellent explanation, thank you!Getting back to the quieting down a performance Exhaust, what you would want to do is install a Baffled Glasspack, like the one I installed in the pics below. Excellent! You should be golden with a good Baffled Glasspack, the longer the Glasspack the better it will help reduce the sound. Install it as far back as you can, it looks like you have lots of straight pipe. Try to install it near where the pipes connect so they can pull the piping out and modify it so the Glasspack can be welded. A good muffler shop will know what to do. Good luck!Excellent explanation, thank you!
What I did was set my own stock exhaust to the side because I didn't want to chop it up, and got completely new 2.5" piping done from a local reputable shop. The resonator you see circled in the picture below is actually the stock Si resonator which I got from a friend who had his system laying around chopped up. Since it's already 2.5" that's the one piece I did re-use from the stock system, and it has worked pretty good till now.
Last night I got the 27won Catted DP + FP installed, and the car is pretty loud. In 6th gear at 120kmh (75mph) it is surprisingly not that bad, but overall I know I'll get tired of it during other RPM ranges, and it'll draw too much attention to the car so I need to find a muffler/glasspack/resonator that will sit at the rear. The space between the two red lines is 22" tops, so the piece I need will ideally be just short of that length so I can get the current piping section cut and have the muffler welded in.
Rears won't bolt up, because of the Electronic Parking BrakeThanks for the info. What are the rear? Will the genesis rear calipers bolt up?
My clutch is tiring out after about 15k miles running +9. Key to my clutch lasting this long was never launching the car ever, and not going WOT in gears 5-6. There's too much torque, and also you're asking for a very serious ticket if you're going WOT in those gears anyway.IMPORTANT question. Are you running factory clutch??? Because almost every build has approached the clutch first. Even with Hondata prior to flashing warns to only do +9 with clutch upgrade. I have Hondata too and itching to use +9 basemap. Is your clutch slipping? Thoughts? Opinions?
I'm considering Clutch Masters. Are you losing power in all gears? (tiring out) Meaning is the clutch situation impacting all driving? Just because if I go +9 I'll wait for OEM to start slipping before replacing but don't want to get stuck. My clutch is tiring out after about 15k miles running +9. The aftermarket, particularly Exedy and Competition Clutch need to come out with their options asap because I'll be due for one before the end of the summer.
