How many bought mods then felt it ruined the car?

Most modded cars that I've driven, including my own, were ultimately worse in some ways. It's usually suspension noise or some other sort of NVH that shows its ugly head.

Maybe CTRMofo lists a lot of cars to show that he has a wide range of experience across many platforms? Maybe he says his exhaust is 1 out of 20 to let people know they're not available to buy because he knows someone will ask where he got it. It is an exhaust in the $2500 range, but so is the Remus exhaust that most people recommend. Maybe he says not to buy cheap Chinese knockoffs because OEM cores are better and safer? I didn't see anywhere in this thread where he attacked anyone for their mod choices, but you openly attack him for having more money than you, which is senseless. I know he doesn't need anyone to speak on his behalf, but this kind of playground bullshit just detracts from the community as a whole and from the OP's post.

Yea, his approach can be blunt sometimes, but he is from a different generation, answers hundreds of PMs across multiple platforms, and has a life of his own outside of CTR pages. Maybe just keep scrolling instead of trying to attack someone for giving factual information. There's a design behind it all.
I second this.

I think people see all these heavily modded cars on the forums and Instagram so they try to keep up, but they don't realize how shitty those heavily modded cars ride. Gotta always keep that in mind.
Agreed. I have no plans on modding my CTR. I had a 16' Mustang GT prior to this and did some mods, after a while the bumpier, stiffer ride, louder exhaust just got annoying. I could have removed the mods and replaced them with the stock parts but I gave them away and didn't feel like paying additional to go back to stock. It was dumb I admit but I'm happier now with my stock CTR.

Cars & Coffee this Saturday at GRP. Sounds like there's going to be a number of R's out there!
I'll have to see if I can make it out there. I've been to a couple and haven't seen other Rs, so that would be fun.
Mine isn't exactly show quality, so I'm a little embarrassed to bring it to a car-show type of event.

The few C&C events I've been to have some show-worthy cars that show up, yes. That said, the majority is just car enthusiasts bringing out their projects and enjoying look at other cool cars! Feels like a, "run what ya brung," type of thing.

Let's get some things straight....

1. I don't attack just to attack. Not my style to go out of my way to call somebody out because it slightly deviated from my own opinion.

2. You got to look at the history of his posts. THis isn't the first time he's talked down on someone or acted like a self entitled rich asshole.

3. I never attacked him for having more money than me. I have no idea where you got that from. What I DID do is attack him for ACTING like he had more money than the rest of us.

4. You want FACTS? Here. I'll give you some. This guy has been asking people to give him discounts or what he calls "sponsorships". When they say no, he shits on their products.

5. You say he's from a different generation... but so what? Not sure where you're from but here on planet earth if you're a shitty person, be prepared to get called out for it.

I think what's clear here is that you went into all this with very little homework done. Not only does it seem like you know very little about the person you're trying to defend, but you know next to nothing about me. My advice. Stay out of this and don't meddle in things beyond you.

Yes because no one on these forums except ctrmofo have experience with a wide platform of cars. No one on this page asked about his exhaust, or any mod, for that matter. He couldn't provide proof of Chinese steering wheels horrendously failing, when asked. Sure did make some strong claims, though. Etc., Etc.

Your arguments for supporting him aren't any better. Ok I'm done.

Can't blame OP for his original post, though.

Sixx...dealing in absolutes. Nowhere did I say that nobody else has experience, about exhausts, etc.

IP...The post wasn't directed at you as far as the money thing, but I will say that you assume way too much about people and "what they know". Can you show proof of your claim that he shits on products when people don't give him discounts? If not, that claim is hollow at best.

I'm done, this is a pointless conversation. The whole point of my post is that you shouldn't assume you know someone or their motivations for posting, but that clearly went over both of your heads. Deuces!

My 2 cents about modding cars. I did make these mistakes in the past.
  1. Do your research.
  2. Don't buy cheap mod.
  3. Not every aftermarket parts are better than stock parts. Car manufacturers spend years to R&D their products.
  4. Don't be obsessed with being the 1st to have a mod.
  5. Don't believe everything on the forum. Take part reviews and initial impression with a grain of salt.

I thought we just listed cars we currently own? I’ve owned like 50-60 cars my list is gonna be out of control if we’re trying to e brag here.

it keeps me entertained at work :D
Haha, I've wanted to comment and actually wonder what Harlaquin does for a living. Every time I look at the forums there's a new post from him and it's an essay long. Good reads for sure!

its not really a "car show", there's always a wide variety of cars that show up...plus the R already stands out and draws attention in stock form.
