Big thanks for the visual. My car is white as well. Guess I'll have to live with the center support in the back of it for now.

BTW: How are you liking your hood? I actually was looking for a hood with vents in it next to release heat out of the engine bay.
I'm thinking spray painting that bracket black but I don't like taking the bumper cover off again as the clips are so fragile. The hood comes with the car so I guess it works. Some say removing the rear hood seal helps with cooling. Not sure if it applies to the Si and other trims. See here:

You'll soon find out the emblem-less grill will reveal another airflow blockage behind the emblem, namely the center support bracket for the grill. It's non-removable built into the bumper structure. Depending on the color of your car, it can be quite visible head on. It'll look better if you have a darker color car. Anyhoo, the aftermarket grill allows much better airflow into the radiator to cool down the innards. I prefer function over form any day, so no emblem and badge needed on this bad boy.

I cut some vent holes in the fake vent to allow more air into my CAI. Some were in the wrong place and some white painted metal showed through like on your car. I just sprayed the metal flat black and it disappeared.

You can just tape off the spokes in the grill and spray through the grill. That is what I did.

Currently running the Mishimoto intake without the box and PRL FMIC with Ktuner stage1. It's 105 here in Bakersfield,CA. My IAT1 is at 150 and IAT2 and 115. There is some power loss but not much you can do when its hot af.
Are the temps you list while you are moving or at a stop? Or even right after a stop?
I remember that Tuesday! It was 104 in Glendale while I was down South.

heat wrap your intake pipe with gold foil and use lava wrap on your rv6
The DP I understand, but the Polymer of the Inlet does not absorb radiant heat. Wrapping it won’t affect that area of temp. Nor will silicone. Don’t use anything alluminum.

Indeed! Love it! That's perfect man. The middle piece is gone. Full cooling! I would've went this route had I known how to get the piece and make this happen like in the pic. Oh well!
Posting this link for future reference damn it. CF Spec Grill :D

Meanwhile, the front grill came in today. Woot, woot! However, it's my wife's birthday tomorrow so it's Bday weekend for her. :banghead: Ugghh, wanted to install it today and test tonight at the dragstrip but happy wife, happy life. **Holds head in hands**

Oh and that's her 2018 Sport Hatch in the background. Pay no mind to it.

I don't know what kind of heat it absorbs but that plastic turbo inlet pipe (TIP) was HOT when I was last doing some testing at the dragstrip. The maf sensor was even hotter. Both were so hot I couldn't keep my fingers on either one of them for more than a few seconds. The maf sensor I could only touch for a moment before having to take my hands off of it. Unfortunately my temp gun was home so I couldn't say what the outside temp was on either one of them and I didn't have a way to show my inlet air temperature at that time either. This was after letting the car 'cool down' for a few minutes. Ambient temps were between 65-75F. I was very surprised.

It still surprised me how hot the turbo inlet pipe was. I did not expect that at all. My air filter was fully enclosed, drawing cold air from my air filter. This was heat directly on the intake air temp pipe itself (Ex: Radiator fan, engine bay temps).

I will stop short saying this affected my 1/4 mile times in anyway though. I'll have to go back to the track under similar conditions and do some more tests with what I think may have resolved the 'heat' issue with the intake and maf sensor housing. And post 1/4 mile results.

I'll hold what you say as true and fact.

It was both, however, it was short drive. Now...my IAT2 is about 20 to 25 degrees warmer than ambient when I take longer drives.

Recommendation:
In the summers you can run an E85 blend just for the Octane and Cooling. CA’s 91 Oct isn’t enough when it’s that hot. Also, put the box cover over your filter, it will help a but with the inlet.

+1

This is exactly what I used to do before I went flex fuel. Our cars (and most other modern cars) can handle up to 15% ethanol without a tune.
