Searching for a CW in the Midwest. Located in Indianapolis but none here locally right now. Thought I had something going with Superior Honda in Cincinnati but sure enough it has an, "environmental protection package," and the ever popular, "average market adjustment.," for an OTD price (sans tax since I'm out of state) of $42,781.50. Yuck.
Keep an eye on the Cleveland area dealers. Several dealers have sold at MSRP around here in the past. Check Motrorcars Honda in Cleveland Heights, Jay Honda in Bedford, and Roush in Medina. I believe Great Lakes Honda in Akron has also starting selling at sticker recently.

I live in SoCal as well and I couldn't deal with the dealers here.

I bought mine from AZ for MSRP. Drove there and picked it up and drove it back all in 1 day.
What about registering the car and getting titled and taxes? Did they take care of that for you? Im also in SoCal so would be good to know in case I go out of state to purchase.

They charged me taxes in AZ since according to the finance guy they are more than what CA charges. I haven't gone the DMV yet but I was told I would only need to pay for registration and also will need to do a smog check.

I don't know AZ and CA law, but that doesn't sound right. I have bought a new car from out of state, and did not pay tax in the purchase state, but paid it upon registering and titling in my home state. Heck, even when I have purchased in state from a different county, I have only paid the sales tax in my county of residence regardless of which county was more.

That is true, everytime i ask for a price quote they always ask for my address that i reside in because that’s what they use to calculate the taxes on the vehicle purchase.

Hmmm well that's worrying. Hopefully I don't have to pay taxes. Or the dealer better refund me so I can pay CA.

The taxes you paid in AZ will be subtracted from the use tax section on the Calif title application form when you’re in the DMV. Not sure if you’ll get a refund if you paid more. Bring the buyer’s order to DMV. You’ll also need a VIN verification at DMV in addition to the smog report.

Were you charged registration at the dealer? If so, did you have to pay at the DMV? How much?

My dealer charged me $45 registration.

The dealer took care of reg and CA taxes and refunded a few dollars a few weeks later for overcharges. Didn’t have to pay anything at the DMV.

Your tax situation might be different since you personally drove it off the lot in AZ. I used a transport service from PA to CA.

Any luck near Reno? ima be there next week.
When i contacted Bill Pearce Courtesy Honda while still shopping last November they wanted $40K or more. You might want to check out the Sacramento area dealers though.
