How do you guys like your Type R compared to your hellcats?
It's a world of difference since I'm coming from an auto. The MT is obviously a more engaging way to experience driving.

The Type R definitely feels much lighter and that's communicated very clearly in the steering

Acceleration and exhaust note very clearly favor the Hellcat

I do find the Hellcat to be more comfortable as a daily driver since I'm on the larger side.

All in all, I traded in the Hellcat for financial reasons and while there are certainly some concessions to be made in going from a car whose MSRP is $30000 more, I'm not sure what else in the $35000-$40000 price range could be much more fun than the Type R. Pretty happy with the move thus far.

For you older owners, what other cars did you look at before getting the Type R. Has it met all of your expectations?I have been thinking on what car to get next as I use to have a Cadillac ATS-V which was a phenomenal performance car however due to GM reliability it was bought back as a lemon. Since then I have been looking for a new daily sedan that is fun and reliable. My top picks were a used Charger Hellcat, and a used F80 M3 but after contemplating for a bit I am just thinking they maybe overkill for my needs. Also I am also liking the idea of not spending $50k on a used car. I have looked at the Type R and I liked the space and hatchback aspect of the car. The interior was nice in the front, didn't care for the rear seat material but with young kids it may work better. The one hump I am having a hard time coming over is the FWD. I have never bought a fwd car before because of the way they drove but it seems that the R has some magic. With that being said we get a fair amount of snow up here so it would work better than the M3 and Hellcat. Also I have a Turbo S2000 that I have owned for the past 15 years and just love it and I am hoping the Type R will give me the same feeling of passion. Sorry for being long winded but I want to make the best decision possible. Thanks again

Tell me I'm not the oldest at 67!! I've been a Long time driver of sporty/ usable driver cars that started with my 1972 BMW 2002ti in Dakar yellow
then onto all kinds of BMWs over the years with the notable ones being 2002tii, E28 M5, E30 M3
E36 M3, E34 M5 all great drivers cars that could do double duty. When I decided to get a weekend toy car years back, I ended up with an amazing 1996 993 Porsche turbo. That lead me to PCA HPDE not with the 993, but with a dedicated track car, a 89 Porsche 944 Turbo S The slippery slope started, with truck and and trailer to take the 944 to the track. So just recently it all got to be a bit too much, so I sold it all. So what to replace my track car with that I could use as a daily driver? Really wanted the Shelby GT 350 but $47k used!! and small back seats for the Grandkids....wife would never have it. After watching 100 YouTube videos on the type R
I decided that was the one! Drove up to Indianapolis from SC this past Monday to pick up my new 2019 black Honda Type R. Even though I had to drive the car back to SC through constant downpour of rain, I couldn't get the smile off my face! I can attest the car handle amazing in heaven rain storms! When I got home and my wife saw the car, her comment was " your such a child"

I’m not sure if there is anyone older that you. I’m only 64 and for a while I was the oldest. The good news is I feel good and I don’t care. I just enjoy driving my R.

You guys are not the oldest here...I'm 68 turning 69 in July. There are probably others in our age range, but just don't share. "Toys" are fun. I feel you should have a toy until you no longer can get into and out of them. Age is truly just a number. Besides the R turns me back into a 21 year old every time I start it up. Drive it and enjoy. Who cares how old we are...I don't.

Just turned 50 and am loving my mid-life-crisis toy!

Never really had a "performance" car in the past (or any car worthy of a community); so I'm just here to enjoy the company and learn everything I can about the marvelous FK8.

Well I am quickly sifting through all these and I think I am the youngest CTR owner, again to my knowledge. I am 21 years old and bought my 2019 Type R a little over a month ago!

Like my screen name suggests, I am nicely aged:I turn 73 in a few months and got my CTR last month. My motto has always been: Youth is fleeting but immaturity can last a lifetime:).

I drove my first stick shift in 1961, bought a new Austin Healey Sprite in 1967 and have had a succession of sports/sporty cars since.

I bought the CTR for those times when my main track car, a Zetec powered Caterham, is on the fritz, or it's raining etc.
