Tell them that's not the case at all. 21psi has been proven quite safe as long as you don't abuse it by launching it all the time, for example. Ktuner users have tens of thousands of trouble free miles at 21psi. And KTuner ran their own test vehicle at much more than 21 psi without issue long term.

I run a tune at 21.5 psi and it's fine.

Both KTuner and Hondata have extensively tested their basemaps and have determined them to be perfectly safe, even over 21psi. Personally I still wouldn't go over 21psi because it would feel like too much, but that doesn't mean the car can't handle it.

Power braking, launching, anti-lag (i.e. racecar shit) is what really kills the transmission and turbo in our cars. Don't floor it from a dead stop and you'll be alright.

It's also worth noting that just because you have the limit set to 21psi, doesn't mean you'll ever actually see 21psi under normal driving conditions. There's a boost curve that correlates to RPM and such.

Tell your friends in Italy that I run 22.5psi tapering to 20psi for more than 25000km in Greece under our hot summer so no worries ;-)
