Could someone chime in on how we should adjust this CMC? I kind of just threw it in there. Works fine right now, but I'm going to adjust it more tonight to see if it changes anything.

Holy leg work batman! Just did my first drive with the new CMC, it's pretty stiff. Took the starting out in 1st chatter right away :) I have it grabbing right above 50%. In terms of travel distance, I'd say it got shorter as well.

You have a fx350 right? :hmm: Hmm I might be grabbing this if it helped with chatter and feels better

Update:

Anyone having issues adjusting the pedal. It's strange. When I cold start the car and start off . It grabs right off the floor. After a little driving, it grabs at the top.

Before the new CMC was put in, it was grabbing at the top. It's probably starting to wear down a bit as well :( no issues with slipping at WOT though

Check that your clutch pedal can get all the way up to the most top position in travel with your foot off. When the cmc piston is all the up it allows the port to the fluid reservoir to be open. If it cannot get up to the top it will not open the port to the reservoir. As you drive the car things warm up and the fluid expands and cannot get out, causing a small amount of pressure on the clutch at all times and possible slippage.

I'll check, but I'm pretty sure it is. I left a bit of play at the top as well.

Good to hear! I'm leaning more on a wearing clutch as my culprit. I've been running the fx350 for about 25k now and I'm pretty hard on the car. And the tuning process with Derek is even worse, all those WOTs. *Cough* also my first manual :hide:

That’s a good amount of time on it ! What is the best way to contact Derek? I had a couple questions for him

Has anyone who's running a spec clutch experienced any strange sounds when engaging into 1st from a dead stop?

Can you elaborate? I can’t think of anything. I have around 7000k miles on mine
The only sound I can think to compare it to is when you're opening up a hole with a carbide pencil grinder bit and it grabs on you. I thought it could be a release bearing but I haven't heard anything once the clutch is fully released. I only hear it as the friction plate is grabbing. I dont want to jump to any conclusions but I have to ask if it made the same sound to the tuner, as it was not making a peep in the 1000 km break-in period before I handed the car to him.

Which clutch disc do you have? Could just be a noise that particular friction material makes under certain conditions. Don't be afraid to ask SPEC if you haven't yet.
