Just installed a eBay version of a DTO V-type spoiler on my son’s 2018 Sport.

I must say, it really does make a nice appearance difference over the stock lower hatch spoiler.

We bought to pre-painted version (glossy black) as recommended from another forum member (CVCTURBO) who had posted a review on this particular item.

Not only is the spoiler well-made and nicely painted, shipping was probably the fastest I’ve ever experienced from an overseas purchase...2 days to my doorstep.

For those not wanting to go thru the hassle of installing a type R spoiler, this is a great alternative. It took me about 10 minutes to install.

I just wanted to pass it on for those looking for a nice spoiler from a good seller.

Hows the wing holding up? Looks Good. I originally wanted your wing. I put on a small lip instead. Had it painted to the color of my grill. It works for now till I get board of it.

Thanks!

To be honest, we just put it on yesterday & he hasn’t driven the car for any length of time.

The spoiler came with a large roll of trim tape which bonded well. I used a heat gun to prep the surface for good adhesion. It seems very secure.

How is the rear view with the spoiler? Does it obstruct the view noticeably?

While you do notice the spoiler is there, the difference is negligible. Maybe an additional inch of obstruction...if that.

I've ordered one of these, is the tape supplied good enough?? Is it still holding on??

Cheers

I’ve been running mine for 6 months and no issues with supplied 3M tape. Still strong. Cold winter months and now hot days, no issues. Be sure to completely surround the bottom with the 3M so little to no water can find it’s way in! Bought the unpainted version for $30 less and just used plastidip, couple coats of black and then a couple coats of gloss clear.

As Ryanfk7 said, the supplied double-sided tape has held up fine. Just make sure you prep the surface it's mounting to (wipe with alcohol) and you should be good to go.

can you post up more pictures and angles of that lip spoiler? and a link? I'm assuming this is the $36 one from ebay?

I really like the low profile of the lip you went with, it's either going to be that one or the spoilerking one. Big difference in price though so once I see pictures of yours I will decide.

I know this is an older thread but I was curious if you guys bought this spoiler off of amazon? I found one for $100 on there and want to make sure its legit. ALSO, for those of you considering the type r replica wing on the hatch, thought I'd let you guys know that I had it installed on my civic hatch and have decided to take it off because the middle portion of the wing shakes a LOT in the wind when going high speeds. I make 300 mile trips and this really worries me especially when I am going 80 mph and up. I had it professionally installed too, the plastic is just too weak to hold up with the wind speeds. Just thought I could let you guys know. I'd appreciate any more info with the duck bill spoiler.

Mine's done that for about 4 months now but when I try to move individual pieces nothing will move. It's just that there is so much plastic with nothing to hold it in the middle so it flexes a bit. With the ABS material, this won't be an issue. Same stuff they make legos out of which are practically indestructible. How are the holes in your hatch now?

Yah so I actually bought an OEM type r center wing piece for $150 and replaced the abs one. I had to make slight adjustments but other than that it slid right in. There is no movement at all now. Nice and sturdy. I wasn't worried about the abs one flying off or breaking, I was just getting annoyed of it shaking and flexing like that haha

Thanks for the reply tho, really appreciate it! :)
