A good friend of mine who did drag racing at a top class level taught me a valuable lesson. If you are in a manual and you are using a tree style countdown then start launching when the last yellow light lights up. It worked wonders for my reaction times.

That's what I'm thinking. I really need to get the launch down, because my 60' are pretty bad, haha. This was my first time to track this car, and it's been almost twenty years since I've otherwise raced at the drag strip. Pretty happy with the outcome, considering.
You should probably Add that you are on ethanol. people aren't going to know the jb4 lingo of map +9 map so the times can be more equally compared. nice run though

Fair point!

With our shitty winter blend still at the pumps and only being able to mix it with shitty 91 (yay Oklahoma?) it was actually about an E20-25 blend. But still, yes, fair point.

And thank you! :)

I'm working day shift that day but will most likely take off. I'll see you there. Will be racing in their bracket class although I can not find any details about the class. I'll bring the Civic out there to race but if my Toyota RAV4 repairs are completed, I may be bringing that out to race.

I'll be out there racing... see yall Sunday!

First time racing with slicks. Still learning.

Mods: prl fmic, prl front and down pipe, prl cobra intake street maf, 27won w1 turbo and greddy exhaust. I’m using a 27won pretune. Yes, I know I should get it tune.

Best time I did is 14.1. I was trying to figure out where to launch. I kept bogging. By the end of the night I figured out where to launch. It felt so good shooting out the hole. I never wanna race in street tires again lol.

Nice. That car has a whole lot more in it once it’s tuned. Should be knocking out low 13’s high 12’s at 107+.
For reference I did 14.3 @99 Just with ktuner on a base map. Stock intake, stock down pipe etc
Keep at it !

So is your base tune and his 'pre-tune' considered somewhat the same? Not asking if they are the same tune of course but was thinking his 'pre-tune' was a base tune of sorts but for his turbo.

It’s the same. There’s a lot of basemap options you can use that’s already on ktuner.

Interesting! So he ran his time with a Ktuner base tune for the 27Won turbo. Thanks! That's what I wanted to know.

I think his “pre tune” isn’t optimized for performance, rather a modest safe setting until he can get it tuned properly.

Yeah the most concerning thing about that 14.1 with all his mods is the mph, I ran 13.9 with minimal mods and street tires. So after tune he will drop probably a full second on streets with slicks and good launch he has a 12 second build list...

He's on slicks so his traps are definitely going to be lower than someone spinning street tires all the way out of the hole and running a 2.4 60 ft time.
