Every week there are a bunch listed for sale. Is this because people change their minds about wanting the tune? Do you go back to stock? If so why?
Or do people tune their car and then sell the Tuner?

Could be a million reasons. They might want to go back to stock. Some switch to Hondata. Maybe they sold their car.. etcetera...

I have a KTuner and it's a very good product.

You have to flash back to stock in order to unlock the unit from your ECU so the last one's out.

But like @gtman said, there's a million reasons. KTuner is a fantastic product that a lot of people love, and the market just experiences different trends at different times. A few months ago it seemed like everyone was selling their FlashPro.

Maybe they're like me and they see people blowing their engines so they get scared lol.

For me I kept smelling burning smells all the time for no apparent reason so sold it... kept smelling the burning smells again on and off at random times...

Turns out is was all the asphault from the ridiculous amount of road construction...

honestly for me, i see so many people who get rid of their cars and are selling. or are "going a different route". lol that always gets me. before you spend money and have to resell something, just buy the right thing in the first place.

I sold mine last year and bought another one just recently lol. Don’t let those guys blowing their engines scare you cause it was probably their driving habits that blew their engine and not their tune. Plus the only dude I knew that blew his engine was pushing 400+ HP on stock internals and he was on hondata.

Also... some people sell their V2s to get a 1.2s so they can do a stealth setup too... and hack the HU and use tunerview to access their device via the HU. I'd of gotten a 1.2 had they been available at the time (only 2s and 1.0s were available when I bought mine). I'll likely see if I can swap or sell and rebuy down the road.

Could be folks that upgraded to a type r and wanted traction control from hondata, like me. Ktuner doesn't seem to want to add advanced tc for the type r so we all have to go to hondata.

Unless I missed some threads/posts I'm surprised (and very pleased) that I haven't read about members being ripped off, there's no buyer protection here.

That's why you should pay via Paypal only. They have buyer protection.

That I did not know, thank you sir!
More importantly, pay with PayPal and select "goods and services" NOT friends and family for the payment. There is zero buyer or seller protection if "friends and family" is selected.

Yea I always assumed it came down to driving or them messing with the tune not knowing what they're doing (anti-lag, etc).

2 of the blown engines I knew were pre-oil dilution recall and both were on hondata, not sure what happened to the one but it was replaced under warranty (Canada), the other one happened not far from where I live, he pulled off a highway exit, not under boost (apparently) and when he accelerated onto the street the engine just blew up. Told me the same dealer wouldn't cover it under warranty because they "assumed" he had a tune, which makes no sense to me.

He should fight that. They can’t deny a warranty claim just because it was modded unless it was the modification that caused the problem. Oil dilution has nothing to do with an aftermarket tune since our cars came like that from the factory. But it seems like people blowing their engines are all using Hondata (Not bashing the company). I have yet to hear someone blowing their motor using Ktuner.

Yea I've heard that about mods but you also have a lemon law, here in Canada we get screwed on everything... Why? Because most Canadians are too soft to complain.

As for being soft. He gave up after 2 attempts. I told him to tell them that the girl also had hondata then so she'd also end up with the repair bill... It cost him in the end $3000 for an engine replacement at a 3rd party mechanic to get a used but working engine installed. Worked out for him as the engine had less mileage on it than the one that blew.

I had my front driver's side tire area making a weird noise, dealer told me it was the brakes that need to be serviced (true) but the sound was from the rotors needing to be machined and they were going to charge me $600 to do that and the brakes... Why? Because they said I've never once serviced the brakes, which I had paperwork stating I did from another dealer, to which they couldn't find in the system so they said no deal, it's out of warranty now.

What did I do? I went on Honda Canada's Facebook page and left one hell of an angry rant which a pic from my dash cam (also shows the inside of the car) to prove I had video which showed the tech basically looking at nothing.

Eventually Honda Canada called me and said as a one time good will gesture they'll cover the cost of the rotor machining if I paid to service the brakes, to which I had no problem doing that.

I may go back to ktuner in the future once the car is paid off but I'm on the fence about it cause it just makes me want to do so much more, and at this point in life my money is better spent elsewhere.
