Hi all,
I would like to add a 12v accessory with a dedicated switch. What it is, are led lighting strips. The accessory from the manufacturer is to be plugged into a 12v plug and that has its own switch on it.
I want to hard wire the led strips to its own switch and circuit, thus avoiding using up the 12v plug, and also hiding the wires. I want to put a dedicated switch to the left of the steering wheel, where I have blanks. (traction control button area) I do understand that I’ll have to cut and splice up the cables from the accessory, but that’s ok, I know I have to do that to accomplish this.
I’m not sure what the best route would be as wiring this is would be. Any guidance would be much appreciated. I don’t know if I can go to the fuse box, or directly to the battery with a relay. I would like to do the most efficient solution. I’m new to car wiring, but I would like to learn.
