Deciding on getting coil overs on my 17 Hatch. My hatch is my daily and I drive in Los Angeles, which to be honest, roads aren't the greatest. I'm looking for input for coilovers for street driving. I've had lowering springs before.

Some brands I was considering are Raceland, Truhart Streetplus, or D2's.

Please looking for input from other owners who use their Civics as daily as well. Please and thanks!

The best coils for rough roads under $1k are going to be Tein Flex Z, since they’re twin tube, plus they’re made in Japan. HKS Hipermax IV’s (Japan) are also a good choice, as well as MeisterR GT1 (UK). A bit pricier though at $1.5k and $2k respectively.

D2’s or any sub $1k monotube damper is going to be uncomfortable on rough roads. Especially the really cheap ones since they use high spring rates to keep the cheap shock cartridge from blowing out.

Do the Tien's fit a 1.5l hatch now? I've been reading they are only for the 2dr/4dr non-turbo 2.0l.

A friend of mine runs HKS coilovers on his Subaru, and they're valved really well for the spring rate. They looked like high quality pieces when he installed them, too.

Yeah Im wondering the same thing. Does anyone have an answer for this?
I inquired with a vendor about this and they said no, but they recommended 'Silver's'. I dont know if i am allowed to post a link to them but PM me and I will send it to you if you are interested. BTW, this vendor has some pretty good videos on youtube with regards to suspension/wheel manufacturers etc.

There is nothing available for the sport hatch. I was just informed that the silvers will not fit.. why is it so hard to find parts for our cars?!?

I would surmise, yes. I inquired with the vendor about the ride height upper and lower levels and they said that reached out to silver and they told them they will not fit. Apparently from what I've been told there is a different suspension setup for each of the trim levels...

Everyone freaking out about it being hard to find parts for our cars isn't looking lol. I ran with D2 coilovers for my daily and LOVED them, I am now running their conversion kit to bags which again, I love. D2 is my recommendation for good quality and ride.
