So, I read up about and saw some reviews about Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax and was very curious about the results. So I bought it a few weeks ago from Wally World for $14 and used it on my hatch.

The application is very straightforward. Wash the car, while still wet, spray the HCW on the surface and rinse. Admittedly, I misread the directions that on the first application, after you rinse, you spray it on and then use a micro cloth to dry it off. I didn't do that. I did the rinse, spray and rinse. So there's that.

But, regardless, the protection, water beading and gloss is pretty impressive. Maybe there's better stuff and that professionals can do a much better job and get a much better result but for something straight out of a bottle and with very little effort, the results is pretty damn good. And this isn't like a paid endorsement or anything. It's just how amazed I am by the results.

So this is how my hatch looked after the first application over two weeks ago.

And then I got some bird bombs this past weekend so I went to wash it off. No special process other than pre-rinse, wash, rinse and dried it off.

And then today after a rain storm, I walked out of a restaurant and saw this. I didn't do anything other than drive it. It's liked it never rained at all! I'm so impressed with this Meguiar's product. I'd definitely recommend this stuff.

I was skeptical of the Meguiars ceramic hybrid spray wax myself after a few posters on this forum that used it and posted pictures of their results I was impressed the I used on my civic by the instructions I was very impressed. I applied it two weeks ago and it’s still holding up especially since it rainy season and it rains every day

Try using collinite you will love it. I tried Meguiar's ultimate ceramic wax but Collinite beats it

I use Collinite 845 about twice a year. I tried the Meguiar hybrid ceramic wax the other weekend and wow... I love it so far. Nothing beats Collinite but I think this will be my go to for the in between washes. Pollen is usually the bane my existence but it hasn't been so bad, I've noticed the shine lasts a pretty good while. It also smells oddly nice, sort of like cotton candy or something sweet. I should have taken photos but I forgot.

I’ve used spray waxes before and they really didn’t shine or last. After one wash it would come off but the Meguiars hybrid ceramic wax is very good just by looking at the pictures the op posted this stuff does a good job and lasts my car shines like the ops car I have to say Meguiars made a good product
By the way collinite is very good I’ve used it before I can’t find any in my area

Yeah, I'm pretty pleased with the Meguiars, too. I was told about Collinite too but, frankly, I need something that's fairly easy and quick to use and these new lines of "hybrid" waxes seem to fit the bill. And yeah it's got a pleasant smell, doesn't it! haha

This Meguiars and the Turtle Wax Ice Seal and Shine are very impressive as spray wax. I may be trying out the Turtle Wax next but I'll wait for the Meguiars to wear off then try the Turtle Wax.

I’m a simple man. I drive a ‘17 Si. It’s not an exotic car by any means, but I still enjoy taking care of my Honda. I bought the HCW after reading mixed reviews. I followed the directions on the bottle and was admittedly skeptical after I wiped it dry. I noticed some hazing and sort of blamed myself and wondered about the product at the same time. That was about a week ago. Today I decided to wash it and see how it looked. Man! As soon as the after hit the car on the initial rinse it started beading and rolling off. I washed it thoroughly (I use the Meguiars Gold Class that Costco used to carry...its lasted forever, btw), rinsed, then dried. I’m very happy with the results. It’s $15 guys. I wouldn’t dream of ceramic coating a $23k car. I would definitely recommend it for the average Joe.

I’m glad I found this forum before I used to detail my cars the old fashion way car wash in bucket of water rinse soap and rinse again and wax and always used turtle wax sometimes use collinite if available. After reading this forum and seeing the results of foam canons and ceramic coating I got sucked in. I bought a garden hose foam canon and Meguiars foam wash and the ceramic hybrid wax and the results are fantastic
I could never get my car to shine after doing these procedures and there’s other stuff I’ve done to my car from some of the posts . So thanks to a lot of posters on this forum. Btw I did purchase cquartz and when I get time if any I will apply it to my car (going on 4 weeks and rain every day the Meguiars is still holding up)

Thanks for sharing. I think my next review will be the Turtle Wax Ice Seal and Shine. I’ve seen some impressive results and will apply and test it next.

I put MEG’S HCW on first, then applied P&S Beadmaker for the top coat. Some waxes can’t be layered, but HCW can be. HCW doesn’t need to cure, but Beadmaker does. What I’m trying to achieve is to establish a base layer, then a top layer that can be refreshed as needed as it slowly wears away.

I’m going to have to give this stuff a try! I’ve got some PowerLock and Collinite 845 sitting in my closet waiting for the time to do a real detail (polish, clay, sealant, wax).... but I’m finding no time to be able to do this (it would be my first time too).

For people who use collinite, have you guys put it on without the prep of polish/clay (e.g. just use a wax remover type wash and some of those pre-sprays?) I really want to use the powerlock and collinite but am worried it’s a waste without the prior prep. FYI my car is 1 year old, regularly washed and only waxed so far with butter smooth type waxed after washes.

Does it really has to be in a shaded area to use this?

It would help. I live in Florida and where I live there’s not much shade and it’s boiling hot just keep the car wet throughout the whole process until you dry it it worked for me

I've used it after a year and a half with no prepping, just regular washes every other month or so and the finish has still been nice. Though I would still suggest prepping, it would look even better after claybar-ing.
