Center Console Gear noise

Is the center console's lid near where the cup holders are suppose to be making a gear noise when you slide it back or forward?
I don't know if I'm just over thinking this, but I feel like within the last couple of weeks it has started to make this sound.

The exact same issue has developed for me over the last few weeks. Were you ever able to solve this? Despite looking it up online, I can't even figure out how to temporarily remove the center armrest in order to diagnose, but I'm really reluctant to bring it in for service just for this one issue.

Mine went away awhile ago and I forgot about it. I don't know what fixed it, the only thing I've had done recently was have leather installed, I don't remember if that fixed it or if I put something on the gears.
