Hey everyone, I have a cvt sport so I didn't want to purchase a full exhaust because they don't sound great with cvt. My question is could I go to a muffler shop and get a different muffler or tips? For how big of a space they are given the two little tips seem too small. I wanna fill that space with the biggest tips that will fill it. Would a muffler or tips suffice?

I think certain catback exhausts sound great on the CVT. It's the same engine.

Yeah you can get a muffler and tip replacement it's a good budget solution for a better sounding car.

So I'd just cut the piping before the two resonators and weld some custom piping and tips?

We designed our exhaust entirely around the 1.5t engine. Can get the same great tone regardless of transmission type.

The resonator is more toward the middle of the car you can delete that too, just weld a piece of straight pipe in its place. For the mufflers just cut out the stocks and you'd have to weld up some new hangers and tips or get a muffler with tips already on it like what @CVCTURBO did here.

I've heard good sounds from Megan Racing, Vibrant and Magnaflow mufflers. Vibrant also makes resonators you could try if deleting the stock one is too loud for you.

Megan's racing MDT muffler ($125) and resenator delete. Did it all myself including bending up new 2.5" pipe from the dp back and welded it all. Zero drone at any rpm. Actually I'm making/tigging new bigger tips for this muffler all hand made from stainless steel! New video once I'm done!

Any highway drone?

When i had my cvt and greddy catback it sounded great! There is a bit of drone on the highway but it's not obnoxious. You can still have a normal conversation with someone without having to raise your voice!

Its not as bad as other people say, and I'm running PRLs catless DP.

Under 2k rpm its quiet.

During acceleration though...it roars.

I also always have my music on as well, so maybe I don't notice it as much

Just installed Greddy on mine this week and love it. As @OceansX said drone isn't bad and it sounds great accelerating. I'm still running stock DP/FP. Pics of stock exhaust vs GReddy might give you a better idea of what to do if you want to just try a resonator delete.
